The truckis to have a one-way snow plow, wing, 2-way sand and gravel box and sanding equip- ment at a cost of $31,710, subject to an 8 per cent increase in cost. The tender is subject to Ministry of Transportation and Commute ications approval. Mervin Smith of R.R. 1 Walton, will have his assessment reduced by $1,420 and be given a refund of taxes as the mobile home unit has been removed from his property. Tile drain loans amounting' to $35.400 were approved. Building permit applications were approved for: Ray Beattie, R.R. 4, Walton, to replace siding on house; Richard Downey, R. R. 5, Seaforth, silo; David McKay, R.R. 1, Seaforth, garage and James F. Maloney, R.R. 5 Seaforth, renovations to house. Passed for payment were road accounts totalling $22,067.97 and general accounts $79,354.92 which included first installment of payments to Huron County Board of Education of $53,072.50 and to Huron-Perth County Roman Catholic Separate School Board of $11,095.50. Council provisionally adopted the report VII the McGregor Drainage Works (a Hullett Town- ship Drain) at an estimated cost of $2,450, Court of Revision for drain will be August 5. Council endorsed a resolution from the Board of Directors of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario objecting to a proposed increase in hydro rates over the next , three years. Mr. and Mrs. Andy Thompson - Mill rates wee set at the July 2 meeting of East Wawanosh Twp. The budget estimates for the year 1975 will require the following rates. The total mill rate for business and commercial, including County, Township and schools is 105.5 mills, up from 87.7 mills in 1974. The Farm and Residential is a total of 92. mills, up from 80 mills in 1974. This increase is due chiefly to an increase in County rates and Elementary School rates. The Roman Catholic Separate School supporters will have a total • mill rate of 95.359 mills, up from 86.055 mills in 1974. Auburn increased in Business and Commercial 91.441 mills from 75.072 mills in 1974. Farm and Residential increased, to 80.086 mills from 70.985 mills in 1,974. The Auditor's Report from A.M.Harper was accepted and the auditor's fee of $1,350.00 paid. Building permits were issued to Schultz Bros., Mrs. Muriel McLean, Donald Pattison and Raymond Hallahan. 'A. Trailer Permit was issued to Alex Blair, subject to the approval of the Huron County Health Unit. The improvement as requested re Blind Line Road from Conc. 3 & 4, along Lot 28 will be deferred, council decided. The Township will accept 50% or estimated cost of $557.00 re returned home to Etob icoke on Monday evening having visited for a week with his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson, Jim , Sharon and Bob. Mrs. Barry Powley, Jason and Jonathan of Ottawa came Thursday to spend a month with her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson, Jim, Sharon and Bob. Bob returned home from his visit in Ottawa. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Preszcator, Bill and Debbie returned home on Sunday from spending the past week on a trip to the East. Coast, visiting Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and P.E.I . . • Michael Preszcator spent the mek with his aunt and uncle Mr. relocating of distribution facilities at Lot 29. Con. 6. The,Council voted a grant of $25.00 to the Blyth Centre for the Arts. A Ministry of Transportation — and Communications proposed road transfer, of realigned Township road, Lot 37. Conc. 14, at Highway 86 to the township was accepted. An agreement re gravel fill material for the 4th & 5th Con. will be signed with Ministry of Natural Resources. Court of Revision was held on the "Keet Drainage Works" and and the "Deacon-Thompson Municipal Drain Repair and Improvement". There were no appeals. The By-Law on each (fot drain was given th ecessary reading and passed. The Clerk will advertise for tenders on the above drains. A by-law to provide %for the "Gaunt Municipal-drain" was given first and second reading. Court of Revision on this drain will be held August 5th, at 8:30 p.m. The Township will apply for $10.000. supplementary allocation of subsidy monies for the year 1975. Road Accounts of $22,435.50 and General Accounts of $1,141.77 were ordered paid. Council will meet again on August 5th. 1975 at 8 p.m. The number of cats and dogs that had a rabies vaccination during the June and July clinics, must have been disappointing to health officials. The Health of Animals Branch of the Department of Agriculture in co-operation with the County Health Unit offered free anti- rabies vaccination clinics throughout June and until July 3. Last year, no clinics were held because there wasn't enough positive cases of rabies reported to warrant a clinic, an official reported. There were already 24 cases.,. reported in Huron County in 1975 whereas last year only 39 were reported. In 1973, a total of 665 cats and dogs were vaccinated -at the Seaforth Clinic, whereas 536 were done this June. Officials said there is no way of knowing how many cats and dogs are in the Seaforth area. Yet the vaccination must be repeated each year. The same story was repeated in Brussels where 383 cats and dogs were vaccinated compared to 416 in 1973 In Clinton, there was almost a Correction Winners 6f .the Seaforth Cen- tennial soccer Tournament were Joe Visser's St. Columban team. The tournament was sponsored by the Seaforth Minor Soccer Assocation. A headline on a story of the win in last week's Expositor said the mosquito team were Ontario champions. The St. Columban team act- ually were the tournament cham- pions. — Winthoplantams 3rd Lose On July 2nd Gorrie came to the Winthrop ball park ready to play baseball for they downed Winthrop 15, to 6. Doug Mitchell scored 2 of the 6 Winthrop runs. Bill Graham of Gorrie scored 4 runs for his team. Garry Berringer pitched the full seven innings of game and given , the loss. Winthrop has now 3 wins and 3 losses on the year. Kirk Hussey. 50 per cent decrease in the number of vaccinations, 'and Bayfield 30 more animals got vaccinted this year than in 1973. The importance of anti-rabies shots for pets is to prevent the spreading of the disease to humans. In most cases, rabies is fatal.
