• It began in the 60's [the 1860's
that is] when Robert Lumsden
established a drug store to serve the
Seaforth Community.
Following a policy of service and
satisfaction the business "prospered
and within a few years became
Lumsden and Wilson when Alexander
Wilson, a Seaforth native joined it.

Lumsden, Mr. Wilson took over the
business which he carried on until
1916 when it was sold to E. Umbach.

Then in 1923 J. E. Keating came to
Seaforth and, now for 45 years
Keating's Pharmacy has served an
ever increasing clientele. Since the
death of Mr. Keating in 1967 his
daughter, Mrs.. D. L. Hoover, who
had been associated with her father,
has carried on the business.
Resisting a trend which sees more
and more smaller towns denied the
services of a qualified pharmacist,
Keating's Pharmacy has continued a
regular program of modernization to
ensure that the Seaforth community
will receive the very best and most up
to date service.
