few changes in the place, but it looks as if the desks are still the same --- messy.
First editor and publisher M. V. Mc Lean, left, is at his desk in 1914. Alva Graves
(later Mrs. Carnochan) looks through the subscription file cards and M. Y.,s
grandson Murray McLean is at the table at right.

1973 eleven past presidents
attended our June dinner. Mrs,
W.C.Sproat and Mrs.A. Gropp
(Georgine Smith) were unable to
attend. ,
Our gift ,shop was started
during the presidency of Miss G.
Thompson.
The Auxiliary operates the Gift
Shop in the front lobby of the
Seaforth Hospital. A Tuck Cart is
circulatqd through the hospital for
the convenience of the patients
every Tuesday and Friday.
Candy Striper&
The Junior Volunteers -
"Candy Strippers" are sponsored
by the Auxiliary. These young
people are a pleasure to work with
and they should be proud of The list of articles is endless,
over the years of auxiliary fund
raising.
Kindergarten tours of our
Hospital were initiated during the
Presidency of Mrs. Gordon
Beuttenmiller. This project is one
of the best public relations ideas
ever started by the auxiliary. It
started with the Seaforth Public
School and we now have children
from St. Columban School; St.
Patrick in Dublin; • St. James'
Separate Sehool and Huron
Centennial in Brucefield, as well.
District Chairman
The Auxiliaries of Ontario are
each in designated districts,
Seaforth Hospital Auxiliary is in
District Oke is,
the District Chairman. Mrs. Oke
is the first member in our
Auxiliary 'to ever obtain this
position. All the auxiliaries attend
conferences twice a year to
exchange ideas and learn from
each other how to solve problems
and unite volunteer workers.
During our Centennial year in
Seaforth under the presidency of
Mrs. L. J. Teatero the auxiliary is
applying to the Ontario Hospital
Association for two Provincial Life
members.This is our Centennial
Project and has never been
attained before.
Since 1933 the Auxiliary has
grown from a group of 5 to 7, to
its present day membership of 90.
We have come a long way both
in fund raising and activity. From
the original Gingham Dances and
bandage wrapping days to Penny
Sales, Fall Fair projets,
conventions in Toronto with an
attendance of 900 women,
bursaries and operating room
tables and silver baby cups to the
first born of the New Year.
Beginning with Mrs. Chas.
Holmes to its present day
executive, many hours ikAf
unselfish, unpaid and dedicated
time has been given to make the
Seaforth Hospital Auxiliary one of
the largest' and hard working
organizations in Seaforth.
We would like to wish Seaforth
"The Friendly Town" a Happy
Birthday and more prosperous
years in the future.
