A pot luck supper was held in
the club house on Tuesday
evening. with bowling after and
twenty-two enjoyed bowling with
both the weather and greens
ideal.
Ladies high went to Grace
Pepper and 2nd. Donna
Patterson. For the men it was .4 Elmer Dennis first with Tom
Phillips 2nd.
\ Last Tuesday evening
twenty-four were bowling and the
winners were for the men, Harold
Connell 1st with 2W plus 16 with
Fred Tilley 2nd with 2W plus 12,
For the ladies it was Mary
Finlayson 1st with 2W plus 14
with Rachel Riehl 2nd with 1W
plus 22.
Seaforth ladies are
participating in the Provincials
being held in Stratford with
trebles being Mrs. Esther Brady
(skip) Thelma and Mabel Strong
(lead). In doubles it is Jean Lunn
and Helen Connell while Brenda
Finlayson is entering the singles
competition. Good luck to all.

Second in the first race at Goderich raceway was Janet
Expressowned and driven by William German of Clinton. Third
in the ,same race wal Scot4 Bqy owned by Edith Samis and
driven by Randy McLean both of Goderkfi.
Third in the second race was Success Grant owned and driven
by William Caldwell of Clinton.
Out of the money in the third race was Hickory Lassie owned
by , Walter Oster and driven by Frank MacDonald both of
Clinton.
The fourth race winner was Arctic John owned by Larry Dale
of Seaforth and driven by Clarence O'Neil. Time of the mile was.
2:14.4 and the pay off was 5.6 0. Fourth° was Flux owned by
Edward C. Hunter-Duvar of St. Marys and driven by Dennis
Jewitt. Fifth was Tinys Copper Duke owned by R. McKinley
Zurich and driven by Gerry Roebuck of Goderich.
The fifth race winner was Kit Lee owned by D. Baker,
Goderich and Douglas Kerr, Dungannon with Randy McLean
driving. The time of the mile"was 2:14.4 and the pay off 9.50.
Second was Bandellero owned by Carl and Grand, Fisher of
Goderich and driven by Carl. Fourth was Kerr's Boy owned by
Vicky and Shelly Horner of Brucefield and driven by Jack
Meriam. Out of the money was TactfulTom owned by V.J.Baird
of Hensall and driven by Dennis Jewitt.
Fifth in the sixth race was Will He Lochinvar owned by Janet.

Second in the seventh race was Goldies Hit owned by Terry

The eighth race winner was Derby Bob owned by Ron

Second was Rhythm's Nancy owned by Dave Muir and driven by

Second in the ninth race was Crash Landing owned by George
C. Feagan of Goderich and driven by Gerry Roebuck. Third was

Fourth in the tenth race was Mikes Jimmy Lynn owned by Lay

Only one Industrial Baseball
game was officially scored last
Monday evening as rain forced
cancellation of the late games and
shortened the early contests.
The only completed game saw
the Turf Club remain unbeaten
as they edged Main Street by a 5 -
34score aft er 5 2/3 innings. Both
clubs played excellent ball as it
turned into a pitchers duel
between Jack Price and Jack
McLiwain. The game saw the first
run cross the plate in the bottom
of the second as Main Street took
a 1 - 0 lead. H owever, the Turf
came back quickly• and scored
4 fOur big runs in the top of the
third as errors proved costly to
Main Street allowing 3 of the runs
unearned. Both clubs managed
• just one more run each before the
rain fell leaving the Turf in first
place and the only undefeated
squad.
Mathews, Lobb teams
head ladies baseball
In Ladies Softball on June 17
Joanne Mathews team in the
early game beat Marie Little's
team 35 -22. Hitting for Mathews
team was Gail Price with 3 triples,
Joanne Mathews and Mary
Morey each with one triple and
Joanne Mathews also had a h ome
run.

Seaforth fans watched their
midget team be defeated once
again, this time by Wingham. At
the end of two innings Wingham
was ahead by 2 0. In the third a
double by John Feeney scored
Glen Stewart and Tom Costello to
tie the ball game 3t 2-2 Seaforth
moved ahead 3 - 2 in the fourth
but fell behind 5 - 3 in the fifth
and allowed one more run in the
sixth to `give Wingham a 6 3
lead.
In the seventh Terry Young
singled to score Glen Stewart who
had walked and Tom Costello
who also had singled to close the
gap to 6 - 5. With the tieing run
on base Mark Robinet hit a home
run that was called foul. Seaforth
got no further hits and Terry
Young was left on hasp. The
game ended with Seaforth losing
6 - 5.
Note: Rich Scott pitched and
went the distance with 8
strikeouts.

Op Sunday the Oshawa
Tridents hosted the Seaforth
continentals in the first round of
the Ontario Cup finals. The
Tridents were eliminated 'out of
the running for the cup after
Seaforth beat them with a score of
3-2, The first goal of the game
and for Seaforth was when
STephen Underwood crossed over
a corner kick and with great
determination, Danny McClure,
placed a head ball into the top
corner of the n et.
Oshawa tied the game up on a
penalty shot afater a hand ball
was called on Mike Van der
Veldon.
Seaforth's next goal was due to
a blistering shot by Johnny
Nielson right under the goalie as
he went down to attempt to stop
it. Tridents made a come back
and tied it up once again only to
,have Stephen Underwood blast a
shot at the nc-1 and with an
unsuccessful try to stop the ball
by a Trident defenceman had the
ball, glance off him and right in
the net.
The Tridents made a gr eat
effort to tie up the game but
superb playing by ' all the
Continentals held them off 'till
the end.
The Continental's management
would like to express their thanks
to the spectators and parents who
travelled with them and helped
support the bus. Special thanks to
Alf Ross for driving the bus,
getting the team there and back
safely.

after getting the rebound off the
