It was the annual banquet of the Womett's Auxiliary last Tuesday night. Members of the Seaforth Women's Institute also attended the banquet catered by Valma Miller and held at the Golf Club. mrs: Fingland has travelled a lot, previously with her late husband, Frank and now with friends. During this time she collected d011s Trbm all the countries she has visited and a few her son brought ba ck for her from places he ,visited. Mrs. Fingland weaved her own brand of magic when she describ- ed the places she had visited and told little antecdotes ,about her travels She started her trip close, to home with an Indian doll that- reminds her of her two grand- children, two Cree children adopted by her ion and daughter- in-law. As a doll representing Canada she showed her own childhood doll, that was made in Clinton. Mrs. Fingland's 'remarks were far from neutral when she described the peoples of the different countries. • She described the Czechos- lavakians as one of the •sadest peoples in the world and said they never seemed to smile. The only time she saw a. Czechoslavakian smile was when a saleslady appreciated her honesty. "I'd never go to Russia" she said. "I have ,a friend who died over there.
