edetick R. J. Knetsch, formerly
of Seaforth andRobert E.Simons
of Stratford pleaded guilty to
Fo4seSsion of marijuana.
Beth men were parked in a car
on Railway Street on April 7,1975.
Constable Dave Dale noticed the
men' fidgeting around the
dashboard and after a search
found eight plastic bags of
marijn ana with the street value
of $250 in the car.
Peter Raymond, of Exeter, the
prosecutor for the narcotic case,
said this amount would make 470
cigarettes with a value fluctuating
between 50 cents to $1 depending
on the market.
Simons was represented by

convictions for the possession of
marijuana.
Simons is working and hopes to
return to school and Knetsch just
finished grade 13, the defense
lawyers said,
Judge Hays told Simons he
expects "round three' to be a jail
term, and fined both $250 or 25
days.
Miles Price of Seaforth pleaded
guilty to causing a disturbance at
the Queen's Hotel on April 4 by
using obscene language.
Price was fined $125 with three
weeks to pay.
A charge of joy-riding brought
Walter Oliver, 21, of Albert
Street, Clinton, to court here
Wednesday. He pleaded guilty of
taking a pick-up truck in front of
the Queen's Hotel when* found
the keys in it.
The judge reduced, the fine
from $125 'to $100 when he
learned Oliver was a married man
with a child on the way.
Leo Medd, of Egmondville was
not present in court when he was
charged with creating
unnecessary noise. He was fined
$78.
Timothy S. Butler pleaded not
guilty to a charge of speeding. He
said /afterwards he had his
speedometer checked and found
it accurate.
He said he has a practice of
watching his speedometer and
was only doing 62 miles in a 60, as
opposed to the charge of 75 in a
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Patterson,
East William Street attended the
International Square Dance Con-
vention held at McMaster Uni-
versity in Hamilton this month.

Constable Jim McLeod of the
Seaforth Detachment said he had
the OPP speedometer tested the
same day and found it accurate .
Constable McLeod asked
Butler if he remembers saying
after he was stopped that his
speedometer was disconnected.
Butler said "no".
Judge Hays said Butler failed
to raise a reasonable doubt as to
the accuracy of the officer's
evidence.
Although he was fined $33, he
was comet ended by the judge for
appearing before the court and
defending himself. He said it is
"the role of a good citizen" to
make sure that matters are fully
considered.
Reginald Watterworth, of 39
West Williams St., Seaforth was
previously found guilty of taking a
motor vehicle without consent
and was fined $250 Wednesday,
, Gerald W. Willert, of R.R.#2,
Hensall and Patrick Murray, of
Main Street S., Seaforth were
both fined $53 for having liquor in
a place other than his residence.
Robert G. Henderson, 19, of
R.R.#5, Seaforth, was also found
guilty of having liquor in a place
other than residence as well as for
speeding. He was fined $53 and
$13 respectively.
Casey Klaver, of R.R.#1 ,
Dublin, was fined $28 for driving
without his lights, Constable Dale
said Klaver was stopped at 2 a.m.
April 2. Const. Dale said Kalver's
lights were working but Klaver
said he didn't feel it was dark
enough to use them.
Ladies from the Blake, Zurich
and Bayfield area visited the
residents of Seaforth Manor on
Tuesday afternoon and presented
a five service under the direction
of Mrs. Mina Talbot of Bayfield.
Assisting her were the trio of
Mrs. Carl Pesch, Mrs. Helen
Gingerich and Mrs.Asa Steckle
who sang 'several hymns in
harmony also a lovely duet by
Mrs. Gingerich and Mrs. Oesch.
Everyone joined in singing
several favourite hymns
requested by the residents.
Mrs.Talbot read the scripture and
the service was closed with Mrs.
John Thompson of Seaforth
leading in prayer. A hearty
invitation was extended to these
ladies to, visit us again.
Mrs. Marie Sadlier of Toronto
visited her husband Dr. E. Sadlier
on Monday afternoon.
Mr. Russell Wilbee was visited
by members of his family on
Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Cartwright Hawley and
Mr. Zack McSpadden were out
fot Sunday evening dinner with
Mrs. Etta Hawaley and Mrs.S.
Hutchings.
Mrs. Jennie Storey visited with
her sister, Mrs. Lilly Hudie and
. also other friends at Seaforth
Manor.
Out of town visitors with Mrs.
Ada Reid this past week were Mr.
John Marks of London and Mr.
And Mrs. John Wain of Bayfield.

A display of war relics and
photographs of the men and
women who served In the armed
forces from Seafotth and the
surrounding, area, will be on
exhibition at the old site 9f Mach's
International Harvester store,
presently owned by Lloyd Eisler.
This display will lm next to the
"Forge" and will be open to the
public from the 27th of June to
the .31st of July. Everyone
welcome.

attended last week the
Conference of London of the ,

was held in Windsor and also
visited friends there. On the way
