The season ending affair was held at the United Church in Egmondville. The show got underway at 7:00 ,o'clock and ended about 8:30 with the players, -wives and girl friends making their way to the arena fin the dance at 9:00. The light-hearted affair turned out to be a laugh fqr the Stars as they took every possible award available. The "green machine" began the pickings with the league trophy for ending on top after season play. They then accepted the championship trophy for their playoff triumph. The election of officers was held and they are as follows: President - Les Coleman, Vice President - David Brodie, Secretary and Press Reporter - Linda Bell, Beth Cooper, the 4-H leadec for this club, along with Len McGregor, 'the County 4-H represtative explained to the members what is" involved in a 4-H Calf Club. Topics that will be covered in this club were discussed. The-next meeting will be held at Lyle Hill's home on May 28, at 8:30, p.m.' Surprise • - •A surprise party arranged by Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Cooper and Mr. and Mrs. Janes! Cooper was held at Huron Centennial School last Tuesday evening' honouring Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Cooper on the occasion of their twenty-fifth Wedding Anniversary. About 100 wire in attendance and prize winners at the euchre were Mr. Lloyd McKenzie, Mrs. R. J. McGregor, Mr. Pearson Charters and Mrs. G. Sweeney. Mr. Roches Faber has returned from an extended holiday in Florida. Mrs. Nettie McClinchey spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. D. E. Kyle. Mrs. Margaret Hutchinson, St. Thomas is visiting with Mr. and formed goal-tending priie for the -second 'straight year. Bill Price walked off with the scoring crown and the trophy that goes with it. The I.H.L. added another award this season and it was presented in dramatic fashi .on at the end of the award show. In seasons past the top playoff performer was often overlooked -but not this year. Armed with an envelope, , President Lloyd Eisler methodically, slowly dramatically opened the letter and announced that Dale Kennedy had rounded out the Stars trophy sweep. This came as no surprise to most but Bill Price and Rick Fortune should be given honourable mention. The academy awards would have 'been proud at the smoothness of the whole show. Some yule .changes were announced but it was decided they be discussed at a later meeting. The hockey season ends and the ball season begins on May 12. The Stars have a summer to look back and in all prpb. ability some of them may well accept awards at the ball banquet next fall. Final statistics will follow in next week's issue.
