contributors made
Centennial possible
At the request of the
Centennial Committee and for the
first time in 114 years of
operation, the Expositor is
putting out two commemorative
issues for one Centennial. This
week's Centennial supplement is
a program issue, to let you know
what is planned for Seaforth's
celebrations.
Putting out a Centennial
edition is a lot of work for
everyOne involved. The staff of
the Huron Expositor has worked a
lot of extra hours putting it all
together.
But this Centennial issue also
. owes a great deal to our readers
who loaned old photos and wrote
stories especially for "Seaforth
100 years as a town."

Main St. montage
our front cover
On the sunny lawn of the old Seaforth Public School
Skill and careful, creative
workmanship of builders in the
a;M'
nineteenth and early twentieth
century are all around us in
Seaforth's Main Street. Most of
the brick work, interesting
window frames and other
highlights on our cover are from
the second stories of the buildings
along Main Street that many of us
pass every day.
Most of the details pictured on
our cover are on the second
stories of buildings. The ground
floors of many Seaforth business
buildings have "modernized"
and stripped of their interesting
architectural detail.
But the old attention to detail,
history and craftmanship is still
visible if you look up. Next time
you walk along Seaforth's Main
Street focus your eyes abov e the
stores and see if you can tell
where these bits and pieces come
from.
The Main Street Montage
cover was done by David Robb.
