Huron Expositor-
Centennial
Supplement,
June 26, 1975
We need
your story
The, stories contained in this Centennial
supplement to the Huron Expositor are only a
small part of the history of Seaforth. The story of
Seaforth is more than the names and acts of its
town councils and more than the story fo some of
its most important events.
The story of Seaforth is also found in the
histories of its service clubs and churches , its
athletic teams and its sports., • social • and
educational clubs.
The next Centennial supplement to the Huron
Expositor, • to be published just before the big
Centennial weekend of June 27 - July 1, will
contain, with the help of, our readers, histories of
these organizations and institutions which have
been so important to the development of our town,
We extend an invitation to the secretaries or,
historians of Seaforth's churches, lodges, service
clubs and sports organizations to send us fhe story
of their group, so that it can be included in the
June Centennial supplement. These histories
don't need to be elaborate but shoyld touch on the
important events and the key people associated
with your group during its activities in Seaforth.
Many organizations and churches already have
histories that will only need updating or
capsulizing to make them ready for publication.
Time and people limitations at the Huron
Expositor mean tht we could not possibly write a
history of all the groups in town ourselves. But
with the help or our readers we hope to make sure
that the Centennial Supplement contains the
histories of the' many groups that make up our
town.
They should be not more than 1500 words
in length.
.Anyone who has questions about writing their
organization's , history for publication can call the
editor of the Expositor.
