The bylaw gives greater powers to enforcement officers with respect to destroying dogs running at large and at the same , time revised the fee structure upwards in some cases double the previouS rate. The new fee structure provides rates as follows: Spayed or neutered male $2.00 Second spayed or neutered Second spayed or neutered male .... $4.00 For a male or female $4.00 $8.00 For second male or female $12.00 For Third and subsequent male or female $16.00 For Kennel license for pure bred dogs .. $25.00 Frank Campbell of Mitchell was present to review with council insurance' for the coming year. On his recommendation it was agreed to increase the coverage of non-owned and owned automobiles from $500,000 to $1,000,000. Road vouchers in the sum of $9937.33, and -on General Account $6010.34 were approved for payment. - Grants were made to the Mitchell Fair and the Hensall Spring Fair, and a special prize at Hensall to each calf entered by a resident of the Township. Council will tour the Township on, April 22nd, to inspect toads, drains upon which reports have been received, and various gravel pits. ' At a special meeting on March 31st Jack and Stephen Ward, licensees under the C.T.C. for the installation_ of cable television in Mitchell, Dublin and Seaforth, visited with council to discuss a proposed site in the township for the installation of a tower. As no pollution would be caused,' and the tower, if reception was found suitable, would be on non-pro- ductive land, tentative approval was given to erect a test tower. The results of the test would be reported back to council 'at a later date. Dublin Police Village trustees, Matt McCreight, Don MacRae"- and Larry Cook met with council to discuss the 1975 budget, and proposed work for the coming year. Council informed the trustees, that with the building of a bridge in the township, subsidy money would be in short supply. Sidewalks on the county road and sidestreets were s. discussed, together with drainage. The Stewart Municipal drainage by-law was given two readings, the Township of Usborne being the initiating municipality. Jim Miller, new custodian of the landfill site, visited with • council, and "his duttfes were reviewed. It had been planned to open the site on April 5 but snow interferred. The Road Superintendent was authorized to sign an agreement with Bell Telephone to install underground cables between lots 1/10 on concession 2/3. It was requested that notice of commencement of work be given so that drains would not 'be effected. During Friday's storm, the driver of one of Dolmage's mobile feed grinders was blinded by the blowing snow and drove into the ditch in front of Bob Laing's. Snowmobilers in this area had a winter paradise of snowbanks to play on following Friday and Saturday's blizzard. Storm keeps McKillop people in Seaforth Correspondent Mrs. Laverne Wolfe There were 55 ministers and delegates present at the Western district assembly of Eastern Canada Synod. The host, ',astor Horst, opened the service with Holy Communion. The sermon was given 'by Plstor Arbuckle, Linwood, Dr. Reble reported that there is going to a \female seminarian ordained into' the Ministry at Riverside - Morrisburg Parish. This is the oldest Lutheran congregation in Canada and the first female minister. He also spoke on the prospects for one 'Lutheran • Church in Canada an a decision on a Lutheran is on in Port Elgin. A special feature, slides and description on the archeological work in the Holy Land was given by Dr. Regnar Teigen of Waterloo, Lnterhan Seminary. Reports were given on Lutheranch,300 acres of land, 18 miles southeast of Owen Sound with camping, picnicing, retreats and a lodge for physically handicapped which is -owned by Lutherans. Miss Joanne Elligson played the organ, Richard Horst played the trumpet and Paul Rock sang. Mrs. Betty Koehler sang. Miss Dianne Schneider played the guitar. Miss Margaret Elligson and Misses Donna, Darlene and Debbie Henderson also sang. Mrs. Horst was responsible for the evening musical performance. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Salverda nee Arlene Brink called on Mrs. Mary Dietner following their marriage on Saturday and presented her with a corsage as she was to be a guest of honour and was unable to attend. Mr. Allen French spent four days around home with his Dad. Mr. and Mrs. Robert French returned to Kitchener last Tuesday. Mrs. Ella Hoegy, Seaforth, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Hoegy and family. Sorry to hear she was taken to Seaforth Community Hospital from her son's home. Miss Linda Miller, Kitchener; spent the weekend with her Dad, Mr. Gordon Miller, and grandfather, Mr. Louis Bennewies. The first vice-president, Mrs. Len O'Rourke reported 82 members and 1 honourary member. The altars and linens had been cared for during the year. The third vice-president Mrs. Dominic Murray, reported that used clothing had been sent to S. Vincent de Paul in London that flowers had been ,given to shirt-ins at Christmas and that the sick had been visited in hospital each month and presented with a gift. Mrs. John Moylan reported that used stamps had been sent to the missions. Mrs.. It is seven miles wide and thirty-five, miles long. It has a constant temperature the year round, really hot is the middle of the day 'but there is always a good breeze. Mr. de Kroa is employed by the Shell Company. Brothers well, year after transplant April 2 was a milestone of sorts for McKillop farmer Jim Sloan, and his brother Gerald of Grafton, Ontario. The date marked a year since Jim was the first live kidney donor at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. He donated the kidney to his brother Gerald. Jim, who lives with his wife and family at RR 5 SeafOrth reports that both he and his brother' are , feeling -ligend are in good physical condition. The Sloan brothers are the-sons of ' James Sloan, Sr. RR 4 Seaforth. Winnipeg Manitob a spent a week with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Moffet.
