Bibbed Council moved to
tighten the eontrols governing
dogs running at large when
members adopted a new
enforcement bylaw at the April
meeting on Monday.
The bylaw gives greater powers
to enforcement officers with
respect to destroying dogs
running at large and at the same ,
time revised the fee structure
upwards in some cases double the
previouS rate. The new fee
structure provides rates as
follows:
Spayed or neutered male $2.00
Second spayed or neutered
Second spayed or neutered
male .... $4.00
For a male or female $4.00 $8.00
For second male or female $12.00
For Third and subsequent
male or female $16.00
For Kennel license for pure
bred dogs .. $25.00
Frank Campbell of Mitchell
was present to review with
council insurance' for the coming
year. On his recommendation it
was agreed to increase the
coverage of non-owned and
owned automobiles from $500,000
to $1,000,000.
Road vouchers in the sum of
$9937.33, and -on General
Account $6010.34 were approved
for payment.
- Grants were made to the
Mitchell Fair and the Hensall
Spring Fair, and a special prize at
Hensall to each calf entered by a
resident of the Township.
Council will tour the Township
on, April 22nd, to inspect toads,
drains upon which reports have
been received, and various gravel
pits.
' At a special meeting on March
31st Jack and Stephen Ward,
licensees under the C.T.C. for the
installation_ of cable television in
Mitchell, Dublin and Seaforth,
visited with council to discuss a
proposed site in the township for
the installation of a tower. As no
pollution would be caused,' and
the tower, if reception was found
suitable, would be on non-pro-
ductive land, tentative approval
was given to erect a test tower.
The results of the test would be
reported back to council 'at a later
date.
Dublin Police Village trustees,
Matt McCreight, Don MacRae"-
and Larry Cook met with council
to discuss the 1975 budget, and
proposed work for the coming
year. Council informed the
trustees, that with the building of
a bridge in the township, subsidy
money would be in short supply.
Sidewalks on the county road and
sidestreets were s. discussed,
together with drainage.
The Stewart Municipal
drainage by-law was given two
readings, the Township of
Usborne being the initiating
municipality.
Jim Miller, new custodian of
the landfill site, visited with
• council, and "his duttfes were
reviewed. It had been planned to
open the site on April 5 but snow
interferred.
The Road Superintendent was
authorized to sign an agreement
with Bell Telephone to install
underground cables between lots
1/10 on concession 2/3. It was
requested that notice of
commencement of work be given
so that drains would not 'be
effected.
