Vanastra Parks, Recreation and
Community Centre Board

Draw". Each ticket costs $1.00

Swimming Puol Building fund.

Ken Reidy' of Seaforth. 'Mr. Reidy
will be presented with a cheque
for $503. r • The "Share The Wealth
Draws" will continue with a
winner each month with Rene
Brochu, Facilities Manager at
Vanastra is in charage of the
campaien. Tickets are $10 for a
book of 12 or $1.00 each.
"Share 'The Wealth" and
support Huron County's first
Indoor Swimming Pool.
' Diane Durnin; Recreation
Director for Vanastra has
presented a prOgram for Winter
Recreation at Va'nastra.
Supervised' activities begin
February 3 and run to March 29.
Boys and girls clubs which
includes Gym and Fun activities,
provide dancing and physical
skills.
Floor gymnastics for children
with the emphasis on tumbling
skills will help the children in
co-ordination.
Saturday mornings a Childs
Craft Program for ages 4 years
and up is to be held, .no charge,
Mens, womens and youth
olley ball and basketball are
scheduled.
Fees for all programs are $1.50
per person. Register and meet
new friends.

in hospital at Brantford due to
injuries received in an accident

The annual meeting of Cavan
Church, Winthrop was held Sun-
day afternoon following a pot
luck dinner served at noon. Rev.
M. E. Reuber presided for the
meeting'. Don Dodds thanked the
ladies fOr the dinner and printed
copies of the church business was
distributed for reference,
New stewards elected for 1975/
76 are: Elgin Schade, Larry
Wheatley, and Harry Rapson. •
This being Centennial year, 4
ushers were elected: ,Elgin
Schade, Murray McClure, Doug
Schroeder and Bill McClure. Ken
McClure was electid chairman
for .collectors

Mrs. Reuber expressed their
thanks for the plant they received
at Christmas from the U.C.W.
Tne first meeting of Winthrop
U.C.W. was held Wednesday,
January 8 with 10 members
present.
Betty Koehler opened the
meeting with some thoughts for
the New Year followed by Hymn
97 ".0 God Our Help* Ages
'Past." She then read a •poem
called "Who Sets the Pace": '
Jane Case presided for the
devotional period ,beginning with
the hymn "JesucCalls Us" and
read an item "Living Coura-
geously".
Ronnie Blanchard a student at
Central Hdron Second School,
Clinton had the misfortune to
break his leg above the ankle
while wrestling with a boy from
London at Stratford Central
Secondary School on Saturday.
There were 16 schools competing
in the wrestling matches. 'Ronnie
is in a cast up to his knee but will
be getting a walking cast shortly.
Mr. Stewart Miller, Brussels
who is visiting friends in Seaforth'
area and Mr. Elmer Dennis spent
Monday afternoon with Mr. &
Mrs, Stanley Hillen.
Mr. & Mrs. Arnold- Scott have
returned home after spending
Christmas and New Years with
Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Scott in
Norwalk, California.
Mr. & Mrs. Eugene St. Louis
and Paul spent Sunday evening

Due to the large number of flu cases re-
ported, the Seaforth Community Hospital, on
the advice of their Medical Staff, are restrict-
ing visiting hours. Only the immediate family
will be allowed to visit any patients.
As soon as the flu season passes these re-
