A TIGER; LYING DOWN - St. James' students won
third prize in the snow sculpture contest Saturday with their tiger lying in.the snow.
Those who worked on the sculpture, which was judged Saturday morning outside
the High School, are Sandra Menheere, Dianne Van Dooren, Margaret De Corte
and Ingrid tibste. St. Columban School won fourth prize for their Eskimo sculpture. .

The wrestling team has been
doing fairly well this season. So
far they have played against
Goderich, Stratford Central and
the most recent match, was
against Clinton on January 14. In
the 84 pound-weight class, there
was no one entered frdm Seaforth
, so they lost. In the 90 pound
class, Rob Knetsch won by a pin.
In the 106 class, Mark Consitt lost
by a decision. In the 115 pound
class, Ron Hauwert lost by a pin.
In the 140 Pound class, -.Carl
Bolton won by a decision. In the
pound-"lass„136 pound-"lass„ Fred Knetseh
won by a pin. In the 141 pound
class, Bill Stoll lost by a pin. In
the 148 pound class, Lyle Hoegy
won by a decision, In the 157
pound class, Ed McClure won by
a pin. In the 168 pound class, Bob
Halley lost by a decision. No one
was 'entered in both the 178 and
194 classes. Bev Brown was in
.the unlimited night class but he
didn't wrestle.:

the staff advisor, The next match
/is against Listowel on January; 23.
Seaforth Students go on/
Skiing Trip
Three Seaforth high school
students plus one teacher were
part of a skiing trip which took
place this past Sunday, Janaufl,
19. The three students were On
Albert, Beth McNichol and Doug
Henderson. The teacher
accompanying them was Mr.
Renshaw. They were a part of a
'group of about forty who went to
Talisman Ski Resort near
Collingyvood for a day of skiing.
Most of the students were from
the Clinton' High School. The
group left this area at 6:30 a.m.
'and were home by 8:00 p.m. The
whole day only cost twelve
dollars per person and everyone
had a great time.
Seaforth boys' Basketball
• Vs.-Clinton ,
Seaforth Juniors, Midgets and
Senior basketball teams went
against Clinton, January 16. The
junior team edged Clinton with a
score of 37-30. The midgets lost
their game with a score of 47-18
and the seniors too lost their,
game with a score of 64-51. The
next game is against Wingham on
January 23, at home.
Girls' Volleyball
The new Girls' Volleyball
schedule •has been posted. This"

has been formed this week. Mr.
Burgess is the staff advisor for
the Club. The Debating Society
has done very‘, well in recent

platform leading the cheers for
our teams.
Up until last year our juniors
didn't have any uniforms. Now
they have 'very pretty black and
yellow skirts and tops, The girls
worked hard with bake sales and
other money making campaigns
to buy the 'material for these
skirts.
Our Junior Cheerleaders are:

Mitchell 'Fire Department very
much for such fast service in our

Last Friday, the monthly
assembly was held. After some
announcements were made con-
cerning the 550 Carbaret, the
Student Council Dance, and a call
for labourers on the Tuck Shop
and Lounge, the monthly finan-
cial. report was made by Wilma
Jansen.
Beginning with December 1,
1974 - bank balance of $3,112.52,
receiptr Were for the month of
December $117.00. Expenses,,
which included referee fees, a
$500.00' donation to the Van
Egmond Foundation and dance
bands totalled $2,192.12. After
Accounts Payable ($57.34) were
considered the Council was 'left
with a balnce -of $2,038.06.
Following The 'reportS, the'
Grade 12's presented a series of
talented performances, in the
format of a Bi Talent --SE'Ovg
Al", the master of ceremonies,
was Petty Broome. There was a
Dutch Rhythm(?) band. They
accompanied a record. There was
a trained bug act and a radio soap
opera vintage 1954.
There was also a tap dancing
trio. Their act was observed in
rapt attention by the audience.
Unfortunately some technical
ptoblems with the sound system
made most of the performances
unintelligible. -That got the
biggest laugh of all.

SEAFORTH STUDENTS WIN IN STOCK MARKET - A team from SDHS placed
6th in competitions among 100 Ontario High Schools in the annual Sir ,Wilf red
Laurier University stock market game. The students parleyed an imaginary
$100,000 into $127,281 in' the 12 week trading period. Receiving their trophy from
WLU professor Dr. Howard Proufand Jim Reid, area PR manager for Bell Canada
are Steve Rice, "Ed. McClure, Bob Hulley and Ray McNichol.
