Kincardine, Petrolia, West Elgin, Exeter and Seaforth playing against each other. Medway High of London was the over all whiner and are shown above playing
Kincardine. Seaforth Seniors won their first game but lost their second one. The competition was designed to give all players experience at playing against a wide variety of teams.
Delight at being back at school shows in the faces of these
typical SDHS students walking through the halls on Friday, after
nearly two weeks holidays. Their delight may also be due to the
fact that results of the pre-Christmas exams were being handed
out at the school last week.
term busy but short
This second term of the school year 1973 - 1974 is the
shortest of the three. Examinations will commence again in
only eight weeks. But besides this term being the shortest,
and quickest to pass, it is usually the busiest.
Already groups in the school are priming for different
events to take place in' this term.
In sports, Girl's Hockey, Curling, Boy's Basketball,
Wrestling, Badminton and other teams will continue, end, or
begin in this term. We shall, of course, continue to report all
activities that occur at school.
Parent's Night is also scheduled for ,this month, for the
twenty-third. All parents of high school students at S.D.H.,S.
are invited to come and see the school `and meet our teachers.
Grade Eight night is one week later, on the thirtieth. That
night, Grade Eight students who will attend S.D.H.S. next
year are invited to come to the school, meet the teachers and
familiarize themselves with the courses and the school.
There will, of course, be a number of Student Council
Assemblies this term.
At the end of the term, during the break after
examinations, the Geography Club will finally depart for
Rome.
Kine-Graphics will present two films for public viewing this
term.
The Drama Society will present a full-length comedy, "The
Mouse that Roared" in early- February.
Other clubs: Chess, Astronomy, Math, Art, Melody
Makers, Spirit, Debating, Cheerleaders and so on, will
continue their extra-curricular activities.
There may, of course, be unforseen occurrences, such as
developments in the current teacher-provincial government
disputes.
These will be reported, and our opinions, for what they are
worth, made known.
The column this week is rather scant, because at the time of
writing, we have only been back some three days. There is
much more to come in the days of this short term.
surtS senior basketball coach Terry Johnston (centre, back to the camera) gives his team some
advice on plays at Friday's game against Mitchell at the school. Mr. Johnston's advice worked as the
local team defeated the Mitchell boys 64 - 50.

During the Christmas break,
Seaforth hosted a senior boys
basketball tournament. Eight
teams entered. They were from
Petrolia, Elmira, London Saun-
ders, Medway from Arva, Exeter,
Kincardine, West Elgin from
West Lorne and Seaforth. In our
first game, Seaforth beat West
Elgin. Cam Holland led the
scoring with twenty-six points,
followed by Bill Kunz with
thirteen. That put us into the
semi-final against Medway. After
a sloppy first-quarter, the team
settled down to play a good game
but could not beat the Medway
squad. On the tournament final,

season play and the midgets and
