Q. Many 'hotels have a 3 p.m.
check out time, but the last time I
was in hospital they' chased me
out by 11 a.m. the day I left. Why
is this so?
A. The reason they chased you
out by 11 a.m., as you put it, was
because you , did not need the
hospital bed any longer and
someone else was waiting for it.
If your doctor thinks you are
well enough to go home, that is
where you should be. By leaving
the hospital at 11 a.m, it means
that another patient can come in
and start treatment or possibly
even have an operation that day.
The times when you went into
hospital and sat around waiting
for treatment or your operation
are over. Hospitals are now doing
a lot of the pre-operation tests On
an' out-patient basis, before, you
are actually admitted, so the beds
may be occupied by people who
need to be in hospital instead of
those just waiting. ,
Your local hospital asks you to

valuable coupons for fantastic savings clip these IGA Although sales of 1974 licence
plate stickers are down consider-
ably across the *Vince 'com-
pared to last year's licence plate
sales, purchases in Seaforth are
up so far this year, according to
F.C.J. Sills of the licence issuing
office here.
Mr. Sill attributed the increase
to the fact that the Mitchell office
is closed this year following the
death of the motor vehicle
registrar there. He said a number
of Mitchell people are purchasing
their licence plat 'c here.
Seafoith' xperience is the
opposite ,,of a province-wide
slowdown in sales. Last year at
this time over 10% licence
plates had 'been sold, while to
date only 3.8% of ' Ontario
motorists have purchased their
renewal stickers.
1974 is the first year in Ontario
for the stickers which will be
issued every year for five years to
update the metal licence plates
sold 1973.These'stickers must
'be placed on the lower right hand
corner of the rear 'pl'ate prior to
. midnight, February 28.
"We explain the procedure to
everyone who purchases a
sticker. So far we haven't had any
complaints about stickers falling
off." Mr. Sills said.
