He was a s n of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Isaac Bolto0. He farmed
All his life with his brother, Earl,
on'the family farm where he was
born.
He was a member 'of the
Church of God at Blyth.

Clive Winger. Temporary
entombment followed in Pioneer
Memorial Mausoleum with burial
later in Maitlandbank Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wm.

JAMES-R. SPROAT
James R. Sproat, 87, of
Beamsville, died in West Lincoln
Memorial Hospital on Tuesday,
December 25th.
He was born in Tuckersinith
To'v'rnship, a son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. James Sproat, and
received, his education in
Seaforth. A veteran of , the First
World War, he servedoverseas in
the front lines for four years with
the PPCLI. For a number of years
he operated the Temagami Boat
Co. and later was in business in
North Bay. He retired in 196l and
since .1963 had lived in
Beamsville. While in North Bay,
he was 'an active curler and
golfer.
Surviving are' his wife; five
*sons, Jonathan of British
Columbia; James E. of Oakville;
Jerome. D. of Acton; Jarvis C. of
Barrie; Geoffrey W. ,,of Waterloo;
two daughters, Mrs. Robert
(Janet) Benson and Miss Judy
• Sproat, both of St. Bruno,
Quebec; a sister, Mrs. Margaret
Morrow of St. Eustache, Quebec;
and nine grandchildren. ,
The body was at the R.S.Box
funeral home in Seaforth where
the funeral service was conducted
TI.Hancock was held
411 Friday at 2 p.m, with temporary
entombment in Pioneer Memorial
Mausoleum, and burial later in
Maitlandbank Cemetery. A
memorial service was held by the
Britannia Lodge Thursday night
at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Jathes Jarvis,
Jeffery, Jerome and Roney Sproat
and Robert Benson.
MRS. HAROLD BARRY
Mrs. Harold Barry, 63, of
R.R.1, Dashwood, died Tuesday,
December 25th in Victoria
Hospital, London, after an illness
of several months.
" The former, Mildred Rosella
Turnbull, she was a daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. George
Turnbull of Seaforth.
She was educated in Seaforth
schools and in early life was a,
stenographer 'living in Stratford
and Toronto.
She is survived by her
husband, Harold Barry, a
daughter, Elizabeth Anne, Mrs.
Edward Clegg of La Habre,
California, a sister, Miss Mabel
Turn11, Seaforth and three
grantldren.
Following cremation .a private
memorial funeral service was
held at the G.A.Whitney Funeral
Home on Saturday at 2 p.m. with
Rev. H.G.DObson of Grand Bend
officiating.

Monday in Seaforth Community
Hospital. Born in McKillop
Township she was the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. 'Alex Munn.
. She was married to Edward
Boyce in 1937. They farmed ,in
McKillop until his death in 1964.
She' was a member of the
Orange Lodge.
Surviving are her daughter

Frederick Cecil (Ted) Lithgow,
66, of Egmondville, died Wednes<
day at his residence after a
lengthy 'illness. Born in Weston
he was married to the former
Alfreda, Morden in Toronto in
1933. He worked for the hydro
division of Weston P.U:C. and
came -to Egmondville in 1950
where he worked for Bosharts and
later with Genesee of Canada. He
retired in 1971.
He is survived by his wife; two
daughters, Gloria, Mrs. Edward

spoke briefly on the true meaning
of Christ mas and commented on
the meaning of the Advent
wreath. Mrs. Durst of
Egmondville had on display many
of her Christmas decorations and
by using odds and ends found
inside and outside the home, she
made simple but beautiful
decorations. '
Mrs. M. Connolly, the
President chaired the meeting
and opened with a Christmas
poem. The roll call was answered
by a resolution Ldo not intend to
keep.

Agriculture and Canadian
Industries report - Mrs. Al
Hoggarth gave Citizenship and
World Affairs, Mrs. J. Chalmers,
Education and Cultural Affairs
Mrs. J. Drummond gave the

Christmas readings. Christmas
carols were sung during the
meeting. Money will be sent to
War Memorial Hospital instead of
quilts. Family night will be held

A playlet "The Baseball
Game" was given by Grades 7
And 'The Story of
Christmas" by Grades '3 and 4. -
"`The Soldier Story" was ably
done by Grades 7 and-...a, after
which•Grades I and 2 acted '1 `The
Night Before Christmas" with
Alexine McIver as reader.
Grades 7/a nd 8 gave a playlet
"Santa's New Look" after which
Marlene O'Reilly gave a fine
exhibition of step dancing with an
equally good dance by Grade 5
girls. "The Sulky Brownies" was
the next number by Grades I and
2 after which Grades 5 and 6
entertained with - familiar
Christmas Carols.
The program closed with "The
Queen". Both teachers and
pupils are to be commended for
their splendid effort.
