With deepest sorrow we chronicle
death of one of the most respected re
dents of concession 6,, Turtaberry, in
person of Mrs. Jac/. Gemmill, who passed
peacefully away on Thursday morning,
June 13th, after a lingering illness of ilite
months. The deceased lady was a
daughter of the late John Epplett, who.
with Mr, Epplett was one of the early
pioneers and came to Canada, from Eng., -
land, in 185, locating t5rst at Bowman -
villa, coining to Turaberry about fl&
years ago. In 1867 Mrs. Genatnill was
united in wedlock to her husband viha.
now mourns her death, the -union was
biessod with a family of fourteen children
twelve of whom are still living. About
a year ago she began to feel the first
pangs of that terrible disease Internal
cancer and although the best skill was
consulted, operations undergone, and
weeks spent in the hospital alt was in,
vain, for although she apparently rallied
for a time, but the disease gained at last
the master, Five long months of in-
dispensible suffering (which was borne

possess her friendship will long feel her
influence. To those left behind and
