a lovely autumn wedding when
Judith Lynn Staffen was, united
in marrizge to John Wesley
Scarrow, both of Seaforth, on
October 5th, 1973 at 7 o'clock.
Pastor Arthur R. Yielding of
Stratford performed the double-
ring ceremony in a setting of
candle light, ferns, baskets of
shasta daisies and yellow mums.
Mrs. Murray Dalton of Sea-
forth played traditional wedding
music and accompanied - the,
soloist Mrs. Win. Embling of
Clinton who sang "0 Promise
Me" and "0 Perfect Love".
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs.Glen Staffen,Sea-
forth. Mrs. Dorothy Scarrow
and the late CarmanScarrow are
parents of the groom.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a floor-
length dress of tiered nylon net
over taffeta with fitted bodice.
She wore a brocaded nylon bolero
with lily point sleeves. Her,
veil was held by a headband of
flowers and pearls. She carried
a white Bible with bronze roses
and yellow mums, white strea-
mers and colored bows.
Miss Linda Willis of Lon-
don was maid of honor and
Miss Carol Steffen and Miss
Sandra Staffen, sisters of the
bride, were bridesmaids. Miss
Jaqueline' Matthews of Seaforth
was junior bridesmaid. They
were dressed alike in floor-
length dresses of brown and gold
floral design, trimmed with
velvet ribbon, scoop neckline and
puffed sleeires. -The matching
gold hats had floral trim and gold
ribbon. They carried matching
bouquets of ' white and yellow
mums.
James Scarrow, of Seaforth,
brother of the groom, was best
man. Guests were ushered in
by DaCid Staffen, brother of the
bride, and Douglas Scarrow,
brother of the groom. John-Stef-
fen, brother of the bride, was
ring bearer.
Following the wedding lunch
was served at the church. For
a trip to Northern Ontario the
bride chose a brown floor-length
gown trimmed in white and white
cape.
The couple will reside in
Seaforth.
Guests were present from
Toronto, London, Wingham,
Sarnia, Goderich, Kitchener,
Clinton and Seaforth.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Roepfner on Sunday were
Mr. and Mrs. .Willie Bahr of
Orangeville, Qnt.
Mrs. Jack James and Mrs.
Howard James visited with Mr.
and Mrs. Patterson in Hamilton
over the weekend.
Mrs. Leo Teatero is attend-
ing the Hospital Auxiliary Con-
vention in Toronto this week.

eflch, the bride wore a peau de
charme gown featuring a lace-
trimmed bodice with stand-up
collar and full sleeves. The A-
line skirt featured a cuton train.
A crown ,of crystal and pearls
held her two-layered veil and
she carried a bouquet' of yellow
sweetheart roses;
Jo-Anne Healy was her sis-
ter's maid of honor. She wore a
gown styled identically to the
bride's (less, train) with a dull,
gold skirt and a floral bodice in
autumn shades. Her picture hat
was in the same gold shade as
her skirt and 'she carried yel-
low daNes.. r_•
Mis-d Janet* Hyde,- a 11-lencti'of
the bride, Stratford, and Miss
Jo=-Ann Pollock, friend of the
bride, Kincardine, were brides-
maids in shades of bright gold
and dark green. respectively.
Their gowns were styled •the
same as the dress worn by the 1" •
maid of honor; they wore picture
hats to match, their skirts and
they carried yellow dalsiel.
Groomsman was Joe Dick,
brother of tlile groom, Seaforth.
Ushers, James -Sills, friend of
the grobm, Seaforth, and John
Hodges, brotherin-law of the
bride, Goderich, greeted guests
from Brainpton, Brantford, To-
Tonto, London, Seaforth, Dungan-
non, Blyth, willowdale and God-
erich.
The wedding reception was at
saltford Valley Hall -where yel-
low and white streamers were
the decor. Master of Ceremonies
was Peter McCauley, Goderich.
For her daughter's wedding,
Mrs. Healy wore a floor-length
empire-waisted • multi-colored
chiffon gown with long sleeves
in shades of orange, rust and
green. She ,wore a corsage 'of
yellow carnations.
Mrs. Finnigan, mother of the
groom, chose a floor-length em-
pire-waisted long-sleeved gown
in shades of mauve and pink with
a pink tiated carnation corsage,-
' The couple honeymooned in
the Pocono Mountains, Pennsyl-
vania. The bride travelled in a
three-piece •burgundy pant suit
with black accessories and a
white corsage.
They are living at 53 Well-
ington St. S., Goderich.
Prior to her wedding, the
bride was feted at a shower given
by her aunt, Mrs. Bob Govier of
Seaforth for relatives, and at a
shower hosted by Jo-Anne Pol-
lock and Janet Hyde for friends
at the home of Mr, and Mrs.
Hyde in Goderich.

Baskets of white gladioli and
sprays of , yellow mums formed
the setting for the afternoon cere-
mony on Saturday, :August 25th in
Main Street United Church, Mit-
chell, for /the exchanging of
marriage vows by Arrna,Mae
Aikens and Victor Kucyk, Jr. The
double-ring ceremony was per-
formed by Rev. Donald A. Deas
and the organist was Ernest
Harley.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Aikens, RIR.
Mitchell, and the bridegroomis
the eldest son of Mr . and Mrs.
Victor Kucyk, Sudbury."
Escorted to the sanctuary by
her father and given in marriage
by both of her parents the bride
wore, a 'pure white floor-71ength
gown, of lagoda crepe, appliqued
with Chantilly lace and fun-
wrist-length sleeves with. wide
cuffs. The high neckline and
the hem, were trimmed with
matching lace. Her headpiece
was a Juliet cap with a three-
tiered cathedral length silk
illusion veil with dainty Match-
ing embroidered edging. She
carried a bouguet of white
daisies.
Miss Brenda Martin of West
Montrose, friend and former
Classmate of the bride, was
her maid of honour. She wore
an orange and yellaw flowered
frock with long, puffed sleeves
with. wide cuffs and gathered
skirt having a , deep ruffle
at the bottom. Her wide brim-
med yellow, had was trimmed
with a yellow ribbon and she
carried a nosegay of orange
and yellow daisies.'
Steve Stupak of Sudbury,'
friend of the groom, was best
man and Steve Kucyk, brother
of .the grodm, of Sudbury, and
Larry Sillery, cousin of the
bride, Brucefield, were ushers.
They wore black' tuxedos with
black velvet lapels, white fril-
led shirts and black velvet bow
ties.
Following the ceremony
a receiving line was formed in
the church when guests were
welcomed from Windsor, Nova
Scotia, Vancoaver,B.C., Ken-
ora, Kingston, Sudbuil, Fort
Erie, Toronto, Kitchener, pres-

ton, Galt, Alliston, Brucefield,
Seaforth, Exeteri- Walton and
Mitchell area. Dinner was
served in the junior assembly
room of the church with
baskets of white gladioli and
sprays of yellow mums as
decoration. • The tables were
centered with yellow 'rosebuds.
A reception followed in the
evening at Brodhagen Commun-
ity Centre. The bride's
mother received in a formal
gown of paisley brown, sand and
orange with a corsage of white
carnations, assisted by the
groom's mother, wearing a
formal gown of wlte with clus-
ters of roses, a bolero jacket
and corsage • of yellow roses.
• Mr. and Mrs. Kucyk left for
a short 'honeymoon, the bride
wearing a navy, grey and red,
plaid two-piece suit with navy
and red accessories and a'
corsage of, yellow roses. They
are now residing in • Milton,
Ontario.
The bride is a graddate of .
Conestoga College, Kitchener,
and the groom is a graduate of
Waterloo Lutheran University.
The bride was honored with
a cOmmurilty,shower prior to her
wedding. A trousseau tea
was also held Saturday after-
noon, August „lid at the home of
Mrs. Lorne Alkens, to honor
her qaughter. The teatable
was centred with a three-tiered
wedding, , cake, decorated with
orange and yellow rosebuds and
topped with doves, with lighted
candles on each side. The bride's
two grandmothers, Mrs. Laura
Sillery and Mrs. Clara Aikens,
poured ,tea during the afternoon.
Those assisting were Misses
Brenda Martin, West Montrose;
Donna Petrevic, Kitchener,
Nancy Sillery,, Brucefield and
Dianne Deloyer, Mitchell.
