After a honeymoon In the
Haliburton Highlands, northern
Ontario, Mr. and Mrs. David
Murtha have taken up residence
at 21 Holborn Drive, Kitchener,
Father Gordon Dill was as-
sisted by Father Karunei Joseph
Of Galt in performing the cere-
mony at two-thirty o'clock on
August 18th in St. Patrick's
Church, Dublin when the former
Mary-Margaret Rowland, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Lou Rowland
of Dublin, became the bride of
Dave, son of Mrs. V aneda Mur-
tha, Mitchell and the late Mr.
Thomas Murtha. For the pro-
cessional Lorne Dc tterer of God-
erich played Clarice's Trumpet
Voluntary. 'He also accompanied
Don Balk of Kitchener, Miss
Mary Kelly, Dublin s and Tom
Burke of St. Columban, as they
sang Ave Maria, wedding Song
and Lord of the Dance. The
bride's parents gave her in mar-
riage. White gladioli formed the
background 'for the ceremony.
Appliques of Chantilly lace
sprinkled with drop pearls en-
hanced the bodice and encircled
the hemline of the bride's gown,
fashioned of pure silk organza
with its long, sheer sleeves, high
collar and enclosed chapel train
flowing from the waist. A Juliet
cap of Chantilly 'lace held her
chapel veil, edged with delicate
appliques of matching lace and
she carried a bouquet of ,white
gladioli with Sweetheart rose
centres. •

Her sister, Miss Luanne Row-
land, London, was Maid of Honor,
in mint green and bridesmaids
were Miss Elizabeth Murtha,
London, sister of the groom, in
blue; Miss Colleen Rowland, Dub-
lin in mauve, and Miss Karen
Russell, Russeldale, in yellow.
Their frocks were of flocked
nylon over strapless white under-
lay with short, puffed sleeves and
ruffled. pctliars. Their bouquets
were of wiilte daisies with cene
tres dyed to match their frocks.
Lorcan Rynne, son of Dr. and
Mrs. Andrew Rynne, Mitchell,
was ringbearer wearing short
pants and vest in royal blue vel-
vet with a white ruffled shirt.
Tim Smith, Mitchell, was best
man and ushers were pat Row-
land, Tom Murtha and Bill Mac-
Dougald.
The dinner and reception were
held at Brodhagen Community
Centre where the bride's mother
received in a ruffled V-necked
dress styled with long sleeves,
a bodice of powder blue 'chiffon,
and a blue floral skirt. Her cor-
sage was of white gardenias. As- .
' sisting, Mrs. Murtha wore a
sleeveless, V-necked frock of
pink floral chiffon over white
taffeta and a corsage of white
Sweetheart roses. *
Guests attended the nuptials
from- Dublin, Mitchell, St. Col-
umban, Stratford, Toronto, Galt,
Guelph, Kitchener, North Bay,
Brighton, Peterborough, Ottawa,

The Huron County Black &
White show, held in Seaforth,
September 21st, .featured a small
turnout of 56 head. This com-
pares with 80 head last year.
Allan Wylie, Clifford, carried
off the Premier Breeder and
E,thibitor awards. He won seven
first prize ribbons and exhibited
thelunior Champion female, the
Reserve Grand Champion female
and the Champion bull.
Judge Bertram Stewart,
Hornby, selected the aged cow,
Gore Ridge Mark Maple, shown
by Elston Speiran, -Brussels ,for
Grand Champion female. Com-
menting that she was an easy
winner, Judge Stewart 'pointed out
that Maple was More angular and
was tall in the front end,. The
Reserve Grand Champion, two-
year-old Rayel Ormsby Marjorie
was a large animal for her age
and had good udder attachments.
Junior Champion Rayel Mar-
quis Stardust, from the senior
yearling class , headed a strong
field of junior-aged cattle. She
was tall, sharp, and ' stronger
than classmate and Reserve
Junior Champion ilol-DenOrms-
by Riva, shownby Hol- Den Farm,
Clinton. Coming in for honorable
mention was the junior calf
Banella Citation Sunshine, exhi-
bited by George L. Hayden,
Gorrie.
The bulls, featuring both
junior and senior calves, saw
Wylie's Rayel Marquis Charmer
on top due to more correctness
in the rump and better legs. Re-
serve Champion honour want to
George L. Hayden with Banella
Linda Valiant.
Special classes at the event
had Wylie win Breeders Herd;
Elston Spierart win Interbreed
Best Udder with the Grand
Champion cow; and Wylie taking
the Dam-Daughter class.

WALTON 1
The first ••meeting of Walton
1 4-H Club was held at the home
of Mrs. Don Achilles for the
new fall project "A World of
Food in Capada."
The roll call-was answered
by all members who include:
Joan Bennett, Susan Humphries,
Kim }Jumphries, Mary Searle,
Margaret Shortreed,' Bev. Ste-
venson, Ruth Thamer, Anne Wat-
son and Mary Watson. The lea-
ders are Mrs. Doti Achilles and
Mrs. Harold Bolger.
Officers elected are: Anne
W atson as President, Susan Hum-
phries as Vice-president with
secretary and press reporter
rotating.
Mrs. Don Achilles led the
discussion on the objectives of the
record book and handed out the
Pamphlets and sheets to the mem-
bers. Mrs. Harold Bolger then
read "Early Canada" and the
members filled out the handout
sheets. Mrs. Achilles discussed
the home assignment for this
meeting.
Mrs. ,Achilles demonstrated
"Blueberry Buckle" and Mrs.
Bolger did 'Raspberry Vinegar.'
These were sampled for lunch
and both were found to be quite
different.
The second meeting was held
the following Monday evening at
the home of Mrs. Harold Bolger.
The roll call "Name a Canadian
food used by early settlers" was
answered by nine members. The
secretary's report was read by
Joan Bennett.
Mrs. Don Achilles discussed
the "Food Guide for Health".
Mrs. Harold Bolger then read,
"Heritage from New France" and
the members filled out the hand-
out sheets. The home assign-
ment was discussed by Mrs. A-
chilles.
In the group work, Mrs. Bol-
ger lead a quiz on measurements
.and all the Members took part
answering. Susan Humphries and
Anne Watson demonstrated Baked
Beans and Parisan parfait.
The third meeting of Walton 1
"Nifty Nibblers" was opened by
the President Anne Watson. The
roll call "Name a recipe or food
characteristic of England, Scot-
land, Ireland or Vales" was an-
swered by 7 members. -The sec-
retary's report was read byJoan
Bennett for Kim Humphries.
Mrs. Harold Bolger 'read
"The British Tradition" and the
members filled out the handout
sheets. Mrs. Don Achilles dis-
cussed the home assignment. Ev-
eryone, in• -group Work , helped
make "English Trifle" ;with,
strawberries. Steveesem
and Mary Searle demonstrated
"Welsh Rabbit" and Apple Dump-
lings."

Mr. Aire Van, Der Ende led the Clinton Christian Reform
Song Service on Sunday evening. Members of the
congregation formed a choir with vocal duet numbers by
Alice Roorda and Jim Baker.
Some of the programs were changed during the week while
'the new floor was being installed in thejlauditorium,
Monday's program was held in the TX. room, and special
care with Marie Flynn and volunteers, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer
Dale, assisting with the music.
Thirty-seven residents were guests of the Clinton
Women's Institute on Thursday afternoon at theirSeptember
meeting • held in dining room at the Home. Mrs. Lockhart
was social convenor for the meeting with the theme being,
"Grandmothers". Mrs. Paisley, a former member of the
institute', expressed lie 'appreciation of the residents for a
pleasant afternoon.'

The Sunday School children
and their teachers occupied the
front seats and sang during the
service, "Jesus Loves- Me This
I Know" and "Wise Men Bring
Their Learning", assisted on the
piano with Mrs. Ray Huether.
Mr. Docken took ,as his ser-
mon, "From a 6hild's Toy Box."
Mrs. I., Wilbee played the organ
for the singing of the children's
hymns.
