Miss Janet Hern of Toronto visited over the weekend with Mr. and ivIrs. Phil Bern, Kevin and Greg. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Dayman and Christopher of Varna visited on Sunday with M r. and Mrs, Kin. Walters. a very peaceful spot ' with aback- ground of beauty, If you follow that road east it will bring you out to Highway #4 near Bruce- field. The village Of Hayfield with` its rustic setting provides some interesting scenery also. Our own town provides much of interest. Look down Goderich St. West dr Centre St. and you will find the trees in full color almost form a covered bridge effect over the highway, that is if ,too matey trees have not been, sacrificed to progress as has been the case in so many places,/ Visitors with Mrs. Anetta ma- son Sunday were Mr, and Mrs. Harold maz„on, L 'stip/el and their daughter Linda with her son ope- Autumn is upon us! Our own area provides much beauty if you seek out the little si.deroads especially if they have hills. To grasp a little of Muskoka beauty, I have usually taken. a drive along the sideroad to, the right off Bannockburn Hill bet- ween Brucefield and Varna. This is a treasure spot near us. Messenger read the 7th chapter of Matthew for the scripture lesson and Miss Jennie Hogg led in prafer. Miss Jean Scott read the se- cretary's report and also gave the treasurer's report. Letters • of appreciation .were read by Mrs. McFarlane. 34 calls were made on the shut-ins. Mrs. Jas. F. Scott received the penny box money. Mrs. Wm. Waddell and Mrs. J. W. Thompson sang a duet "A Whole New Me." Mrs. Agar introduced Mrs. M. Reuber who spoke on "women of the Bible." Mrs. H. VanRool len thanked the spbalcer and those who part- icipated in the program.
