The parade was a real high-
light of this 'years fall fair
'
with
a great deal of hard work evi-
dent in the imaginative floats
made by area school children
First prize in the float class
went to Remember When? A
pioneer days float by Grade 7
at St. James School, A Salute
to the 100th Anniversary of the
R.C.M.P. won a second prize
for the students of 7D at S.P.S.
while 70, S.P.S. won third prize
for their Bookworm float. Grade
8 at St. James won fourth prize
for their thought-provoking float
Farmer's Lib.
Grade 1 and 2, Seaforth Pub-
lic School won first prize for the
best identifying headdress.
Second were Grade 3 and 4,
S.P.S., third were Grades 2 and
3, St. James and St. James Grades
1 and 2 were fourth.
A list of the winners in the
Elementary School classed in the
Field Crop Competitions will
appear in next weeks issue.
Prizes were plentiful as many
organizations sold draw tickets
on various prizes from their
boothes at the F all F air on Thurs-
day and Friday.
The Hospital Auxiliary afghan
was won by Frank Kling and Ms.
* Wm. J. Storey, R.R. 2, Seaforth,
won a teddy bear. Mrs. Margaret
Case won the Order of the Eastern
Star draw for an afghan. The
quilt draw, sponsored by the Sea-
forth women's Institute was won
by Mrs. Bill Wood, Cookstown,
a niece ,of Mr. and Mrs. J.C.
Crich. Mrs. Art Henderson,
Rs,R. 5, Seaforth won the pair of
`pillow slips.
The Phillip's photography
draw was won by Joanne Primeau
and the Good Times Travel draw
for a trip to Nashville was won
by Mrs. Sillery, Brucefield.
HARRY KRUSE
The death occurred in Parry
Sound hospital on Tuesday of
Harry Kruse of Orrville, Ont.
He was 75.
Mr. Kruse a native of Tucker-,
smith was the son of the late
Wm. Kruse and Hannah Spencer.
He attended school in Eg-
mondville and Seaforth Collegiate
Institute.
He was a regular visitor to
Seaforth and since his retire-
ment he had spent recent win-
ters here.
He is survived by three sis-
ters, Annie, Mrs. Wm. Oldfield,
Tuckersmith; Elizabeth, Mrs..
Edward Brown, Seaforth and
mable, Mrs. Ed Neubauer, Ran-
somville, N.Y., a fourth sister,
Winnifred, Mrs. Riymond Nott,
predeceased him.
Remains are resting at the
Logan Funeral Home, Parry
Sound where a service will be
held at 1 p.m. on Thursday. Cre-
mation will follow.

The Twilight Circle of
Egmondville United Church met
at the home, of Mrs. James Mc-
Intosh with Mrs. Milton Dietz
presiding.
Mrs. Ken Carnochan opened
the meeting with devotions and
prayer and members and guests
answered the roll call with a
report on their summer activi-
ties.
A request was received from
the Christian Education
Committee of the Church for
the members of the Twilight
Circle to take charge of a
church service in several weeks.
A committee was set up to meet
with Mr. Hancock to arrange the
event
The next meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs. Bruce Cole-
man with Mrs. Milton Dietz and
Mrs. James McIntosh in charge.
Crokinole followed with the
high prize winner being Mrs.
The Seaforth 3 4-H Club held'
their second meeting September
19 and selected the name "The
Gourmet Goodies" for the club.
Cooking demonstrations were
done by Brenda Thompson and
Lori Hugiii.

The first meeting of the Kip-
pen 11, Ancestral Assortments,
was held September 5 when of-
ficers elected were:
President, Debbie Consitt; Vice-
P resident, Sharon Finlayson; Se-
cretary, Shirley Chalmers;
Press Reporter, Joanne Van Wei-
ren; Telephone Girl, Carol Chal-
m e rs.
Mrs. Stoll demonstrated Ind-
ian pudding.
The second meeting was held
September 13 at Mrs. Stoll's.
Doreen Van Weiren was el-
ected as secretary and Sharon
Finlayson's cover design was
chosen.
After the discussion of New
France and the Canadian Food
Guide for Health, Debbie Consitt
and Sharon Finlayson demonstra-
ted Grand-peres.
The third meeting wa held'
on September 19 at Mrs. Stoll's.
A new press reporter, Nancy
Stoll, was named. The new sec-
retary is Gayle Vander Veldon.

The Clinton 1V 4-H girls met
September18 at the Carnochan
home. After the pledge, Joanne
Gibson read the„minutes.
The girls were askedfor sug-
gestions for the club nick-name.
After a few mjnutes, the name
"Apinch - Adash = and a Wish"
was adopted reflecting perhaps a
subtle hint as to the manner of
their cooking.

ing as General Manager of the
sFair Havens Bible Conference of
the Associated Gospel Churches
at Beaverton, Ont. Mr. Crump
graduated from Ontario Bible
College some twenty-five years
ago and after serving success-
fully in the pastorate in the To-
ronto area was appointed to his
present position. As Manager
he is responsible for the well-
being of some three hundred
guests per week during the sum-
mer months and -a greatsmany
business men's retreats during
the winter.
