for the wedding of Angela Mary
Devereaux and William Richard
MacLean on August 25th, 19'73 at
4 p.m. w'th Father H. Laragh
and Rev. T. E. Hancock offic-
iating at the double ring cere-
, monty. Fr. Laragh celebrated
the Nuptial Mass and Rev. Han-
cock gave the readings,
The Church was decorated
with pink and white gladioli.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Devereaux
of Seaforth and Mr. and Mrs.
Norman MacLean, Egmondville,
are the parents of the groom.
Given in , marriage by her
father, the bride chose a formal
gown of white sat-a-peau styled
with a square neckline and bishop
sleeves. French guipure lace,
threaded with white satin ribbon,
eutlined the neckline, the empire
bodice and down the front of the
skirt. Accenting the gown, she
wore a catheclr alrlength,veil trim-
med with the same lace. she

and fern.
Miss Jean Devereaux, ,Sea-
forth, was the maid of honor and
the bridesmaids were Mrs.
Robert Watson, Egmondville,
Mrs. Ray Devereaux and Miss
Dawna Reynolds of Seaforth. They
were dressed alike , ip
floor-length pink floral gowns
and Carried white baskets of
pink and white flowers similar to
the bride's.

Mrs. Alice Stiles, organist,
played the wedding music.
Mr. John Durst, Guelph, was
the groomsman and the guests
were ushered by Mr. Chris
Coombs, London, Mr. Ray Dev-
ereaux, Seaforth and Mr. Doug
Kearns, Toronto.
The dinner and reception fol-
lowed at the Seaforth Legion.
Hall. The bride's mother
received the guests wearing a
floor-length gown of rose poly-
ester lace with an orchid cor-
sage. She was, assisted by the
groom's mother who wore a
floor-length purple gown accen-
ted with guipure lace and, an
orchid corsage.
The couple travelled toGaspe
Peninsula for their honeymoon.
They will reside at 45 Troy
Street, Apartment el, Kitchener.
The bride is on the staff of
Kitchener Public Library and,
the groom is in his final year
of Business Administration at
Waterloo.
Prior to her Wedding, Angela
was honoured at showers given
by Mrs. Amelda Reynolds and the
bride's roommates at 801 Mait-
land Street, London; Miss Gerda
willems and Mrs. Florence Dev-
ereaux at Gerda's home; Mrs.
Betty. Brady and Mrs. Frances
Teatero •at the Brady home;
Mrs. Gwen Devereaux, sister-in-
law of the bride at her home; and
Mrs. Claire Eckert, aunt of the
bride and Mrs. Sarah Elliott
at the Eckert home.

Hogan of Lucknow exchanged
marriage vows in St. Joseph's
Roman Catholic Church, Kings-
bridge, on Saturday, September
15th, 1973.
Father Edward Dettinger per-
formed the ceremony in a setting
of candelabra and baskets of
shasta daisies and yellow mums.
Miss Colleen Farrier of
Toronto, cousin of the bride,
played traditional wedding music
and accompanied the soloist,
Robert Cunningham of Ethel.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Pletch of
Brussels. Mr. and Mrs. Dennis
Hogan of Lucknow are parents
of the groom.
The bride, given in mar-
riage by her father, wore a.
formal gown of pebble peau de
soie fashioned with empire waist,
scoop neckline and elbow-length
sleeves, with alencon lace trim.
The chapel train had matching
lace. The• shoulder-length, veil
was caught with rose-petal
flowers and seed pearls", Her
bridal bouquet was a cascade of
red roses and white feathered
-carnations. •
The brides attendants, Mrs.
Karen Cronin of Seaforth, sister
of the bride, as Matron of Honor
and bridesmaids, Miss Rosemary
Hogan, London, sister of the
groom and Miss Lynda Gibson
aaf Listowet, were dressed, pin
„floor length, goi,vns. of mint .greoa,
.polyester crepe with white lace
trim. They carried boquets of
white shasta daisies and mums
and wore matching green flowers
in their hair.
Miss Lori Cronin, niece of
the bride, as flowergirl, wore a
dress identical to those of the
bridesmaids and carried a basket,
of yellow and white baby mums.
Michael Hogan, of Lucknow,
brother of the groom, was best
man. Guests were ushered by
Don Pletch of Brussels, brother
of the bride, and Ron.Hogan of
Deep River, brother of the groom.
For the reception held
in Brussels Legion Hall the
bride's mother received the
guests in blue floral chiffon with
silver accessories and a Corsage
of yellow baby mum's. She was
assisted by the mother of the
groom wearing floor-length, dark
green floral'chiffon with brown
accessories and corsage of

Burns walked with her father, to
become the bride of Ronald Lloyd
Miller. Pink and white carna-
tions, white starburst poms and
lighted tapers in gold candelabra
made a beautiful background for
the double-ring ceremony per-
formed by Rev. D. J. McMaster.
Miss Sheila Phillips played tra-
ditional wedding music, and Mr.
Clarence Denomme sangHymn of
Joy, Ave Maria, Panis Angelleus
and 0 Perfect Love.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. A. Garon Clinton, and the
late Francis Charles Burns. Mr.
and Mrs. Lloyd Miller, R.R. 2,
Staffa are parents of the groom.
. The bride looked lovely in a
Victorian styled gown of spark-
ling peau de sole with attached
Cathedral train both trimmed
with delicate Swiss guipure lace
and white satin ribbon. Her
Cathedral length pure silk
illusion, veil was gathered to a
Juliette cap, trimmed with Mat-
ching guipure lace and ribbon.
Gretta carried a cascade bou-
quet of deep pink sweetheart
roses and white stephanotis.
Miss Ann Crittendon, Clinton
was Maid of Honor.4, The brides-
maids ,were Miss Anne wilbee,,L,.

ler, Staffa, sister of the groom.
The flower girl. was Miss De-
borah Berns, London, niece- of
the bride. They were similarly
attired in Victorian styled gowns
of baby blue voile over blue taf-
feta, with a bodice overlay, of
white lace. They carried nose-
gays of variegated pink minia-
ture carnations, white starburst
poms, and trailing ivy, with mat-
ching flowers in their hair.
Douglas McKay, Kippen was•
grOomsman, and Larry Wright,
Kippen and Gregory Burns,Clin-
ton, brother 'of the bride, ush-
ered guests.-
A wedding dinner followed by
a reception held at the Legion
Hall, where the parents of the
bride and groom received guests.
The bride's mother chose an
aqua matte jersey gown with mat-
ching accessories, and a corsage
of variegated mauve miniature
carnations. The mother of the
groom wore a deep pink polyester
crepe gown, with white access-
ories, and a corsage of white
miniature carnations.
Following the reception, the
bride changed to a black,, grey
and red pant suit with'black ac-
cessories and a corsage of red
sweetheart roses for a wedding
trip to Banff, Lake Louise, Jas-
per and Calgary. The young
couple will reside at H.R. 2,
Staffa, Ont.
Guests were present from
New York, 'Detroit, Montreal, Ot-
tawa, London, Goderich, Staffa,
Clinton, and surrounding dis-
tricts.
Prior to her marriage, the
bride was honored at several
showers. Hostesses were Mrs.,
JOhn Templeman and daughters,
R.R. 2, Staffa, Mrs. Murray Tay-
lor and Mids Ann Crittendon,
Clinton, Mrs. Guss Boussey and
Mrs. John Anstett, Clinton, Mrs.

An open meeting of theaValton
Women's Institute was held in
the Community Hall on Friday
evening for the Family and Con-
sumer Affairs meeting which was
convened by Mrs. George McCall
and Mrs. Ron Bennett.
The guest speakers, Drs.
Gerd and Jean Westermann of
Burlington, were introduced and
shoWed slides of their trip to
Africa where they spent some
time in Kenya, East Africa, which
is south of the equator. They both
told of their experiences there,
which was most interesting and
informative. They were thanked
and presented with a gift.
The Henderson trio from Sea-
'forth, Debbie.; Darlene and Donna
entertained with their singing and
tap dancing tmmbert several
times during the program and
'were assisted by their mother
at the piano. They were also
presented with a gift on behalf
of the Institute.
President, Mrs. Allan McCall
conducted the business. Minutes
were read by Mrs. Ken McDonald
and the Roll Call was answered
with a gift for the Cancer Cup-
board in Wingham. The corres-
pondence was dealt with. It was
decided to send a donation to
the Huronview auxiliary to be
uxed to help purchase a van
for wheel chair residents. The
County Rally, October 1, is to
be held in Centralia, with Mrs.
Herb Traviss and Mrs. Ray
Huether as voting delegates.' A
lengthy disclission followed on the
W.I. - Bursary Fund at the
Children's Aid Society at
Egrnondville
Mr. and Mrs. Bedford Dungey
and Bonnie visited with Mr. Er-
nie Toll and Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Geddes. They also attended a
birthday party for Howard Dine
gey on Saturday evening.
Mrs. Ron McAllister has re-
turned hcitne from Seaforth Com-
munity Hospital after having sur-
gery. ,

GIBBINGS
and a contrasting bow fell down
the front of the skirt matching
colored flower wreaths which
were worn in their hair. They
carried nosegays of white daisies
and pink and mauve carnations
with streamers of matching co-
lors.
Gregory Jervis, Clinton,
friend of groom, was the grooms-
man and the guest's were ush-
ered by Mark Kalichuk, R.R. 4,
Walton, brother of the groom,
John and Paul Gibbings, both of
R.R. 1, Clinton, brothers of the
bride.
The reception was held at
Clinton Legion Hall with Blacks
Orchestra providing the music..
The bride's mother received
guests wearing a full-length gown
of floral chiffon and a corsage,of
white carnations and baby's
breath with a touch of pink. The
groom's mother wore a full-
length gown of green crepe and a
corsage of pink carnations and
baby's breath.
For travelling to California
the bride chose a blue and white
crepe pant suit with a corsage of
pink sweetheart roses.
The couple are residing at
780 Viscount Rd., London.

of the bride prior to her wed-
ding by Mrs. Robt. Gibbings and
Mrs. Jack Andrews, aunts of the "
bride; a' shower by Mrs. Wayne

tea in honor of her daughter.

Mrs. Don Achilles reported
on the work that had been done
by the hall committee, clean-up
committees were suggested.
A lot of painting and remodelling
has been done, also new toilets
installed. Susan Humphries and
Anne Watson have offered to do
some varnishing.
The Area Convention will be
held in Kitchener on November
1,2 with Mrs. Don Achilles to
be the delegate, Mrs. A. McCall
as alternate.
It was agreed to enter a dis-
play of eight homemade articles
suitable for Christmas at the
Brussels Fall Fair, all articles
to be left with Mrs. Harold Bol-
ger or Mrs. J. Van Vliet Sr.
It was decided to go in with
Brussels and Cranbrook Insti-
tutes to purchase a wreath for
Armistice Day. The Treasurer's
report was given. and collection
received.
A Walkathon was announced

for the Minor softball and park
improvement fund on October 13th
leaving from the hall walking
past Winthrop.
The hostesses, Mrs. Dave
Watson, Mrs. Laverne Godkin,
Mrs. Jim Axtmann, Mrs. Bill
Humphries, Mrs. Don Achilles•
and Mrs. Stewart Humphries,
served lunch.
CHURCH SERVICES RESUME
Services at Duff's United
Church will regime this coming
Sunday at 11:15 a.m. when the
Sunday School Promotion and
Award Service will be held. Rev.
Docken will have as the theme
for his sere on "From a Child's
Toy Box." Sunday School begins
at the usual time, 10:15 a.m.

The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Frederick W. Til-
ley of Harpurhey, and the groom
is the son of Mrs. Elsie South-
gate, of Seaforth, arid the late
W. E. Southgate.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, was dressed in .a.
traditional style gown of chantilly
lace over satin. Her veil of silk
illusion was held by a Juliet cap
and trimmed in lace matching her
gown. She carried a bouquet of
white shasta daisies and yellow
roses.
The Maid of Honor was Bar-
bara They, sister of the bride.
She was dressed in a •long gown
of-yellow floral voile. She wore
a yellow picture hat and carried
a bouquet of white and yellbw
shasta daisies.
Paul Southgate, brother of the
groom, was the groomsman. The
usher was Dave Tilley, brother
of the bride.
Following the • wedding, a re-
ception was held at the home of
the bride's parents. For a trip
to Northern Ontario, the bride
chose a brown and beige checked
pantsuit with matching accessor-
ies in brown, and a bronze col-
ored corsage. The couple are
residing in Seaforth.

Lynn Gibbings, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. WilliaM Gibbings of
R.R. 1, Clinton, and Vite Stan-
ley Chomicki of London, son of
Mrs. Alex Kalichuk, Walton, and
the late Mr. Placyd Chomicki.
Rev. L. Lewis .officiated, at
the double ring ceremony while
Barbara Symons was the organ-
ist. Jim Medd sang "Just a
Closer Walk with Thee" and
"May the Good Lord Bless and
Keep Thee" accompanying him-
self with his guitar.
The bride given in marriage
by her father and mother chose
,a full length gown of white sheer
silk organza over net, styled with
a sheer ruffled V-neckline and
sheer sleeves forming into ruff-
led cuffs. The gown was accented
with, flower appliques which trim-
med the bodice and skirt. Her
floor length veil edged with mat-
ching flower trim was held with
a headpiece of white flowers and
tiny leaves. She carried a bou-
quet of .dalsies and pink sweet-
heart roses with pink streamers
tied in bows at the end.
Miss Arlene Andrews, Lon-
don, cousin of the bride, was
Maid of Honor, and the brides-
maids were Miss Connie Harris,
Holmesville, frientl of the bride,
Mrs. Donna Lenaghan, Richmond,
sister of t groom. and. Miss
Cathy Gib "ings, sister of the
bride was her Junior bridesmaid.
