Marilyn Z. Jones of Wingham,
was involved in a single car ac-
cident, on Concession 'B, east of
Highway #4, Turnberry. No one
was injured, and damages were
estimated at $250. •
Four investigations and four
persons charged under the Liquor
Control Act. •
Seventeen charges laid and six
warnings issued under the
Highway Traffic' Act.
Twenty-eight other investiga-
tioes with one person charged
under the Criminal Code.

lision on Maple Street in

For an irresistible dessert,
the Food Advisory Services re-
commend fresh peaches with a
plum sauce.
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon .grated orange rind
2 cups halved pitted prune
plums
1 tablespoon orange juice
6 peeled sliced peaches
1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped
Compine first three in-
gredients and bring to boil. Add
plums, cover and simmer until
tender (about 15 minutes). Add
orange juice. Puree through
sieve or in blender. Chill. Ar-
range peaches in sherbet dishes,
pour plum sauce over and top
Whth whipped cream. &servings.

were involved in a collision on

pending.
On Thursday, September 6,
David J. Dolgos was involved in
a single car accident on Highway
#4, south of the Huron-Bruce
County Line.' Mr. Dolgos was
injured as a result of the accident
and damages to the vehicle were
estimated at $1,700.
On Saturday, September 8,
Richard A. Kinat of Wingliam,•
was in collision With a car owned
by Donald W. Sprung of Goderich.

of London, were involved in a
two car collision on #16 County
Road, west of #12 County Road
in Brussels, Ontario. No one
was injured and damages were

Lucjcnow,struck a calf on High-
way #8, west of the junction
of Tees water road, Kinloss
Township, belonging to James
Murray of R.R. #3, Holyrood.
No one was injured and damages
to the passmore vehicle were
estimated at $100.
On September 13, John R. Lep-
pington of R.R.' #1, Gorrie, was
in a single car accident on High-
way #4, Turnberry Township,'
wherein he struck and broke a
sign post. There were no in-
juries, and damages were esti-
mated at $1,200. Charges are
pending.
On September 15, Joseph W.
McInnis of Fordwich and Lorne
G, Prince of R. IL #3, Clifford,
were involved in a two car col-
lision on Highway #87, east of
Huron Road #28, Howick Town-
ship. No one was injured and
damages were estimated at $400.

deep purples. Their llavorayary
with the variety, some sweeter
than others, some more' tart.
Shop carefully. Plums of good
qbality are plump, clean, full-
colored according to the variety,
and soft enough to yield to slight
pressure. Softening at the tip
is ,a good indication of maturity.
Immature fruit is hard. Over
mature fruit is generally soft
and easily bruised. ,
Eat plums out of hand - they're
a welcome thirst-quencher on a
hot day. Put plums in fruit
salads, pies, stewed fruit, pre;
serves, jellies and jams. Com-
bine -them with ice cream for
luscious desserts. Include them
in puddings and Bavarian creams,
in cakes, tarts and pastries, and
in gelatin salad and dessert pre-
parations.
