Mainfteet
advances in
industrial
ball finals
Mainstreet moved to within
one game of a double sweep as'
they whipped the hapless Firemen
18 - 5 last Thursday evening.
Mainstreet opened a quick
4-0 firit inning lead and were
never threatened as the Firemee,
committed error after error al-
lowing the Mainstreeters to score
almost at will. The only bright
spot for the Smokeaters was
Don Coleman who made several
brilliant catches in left field
and also accounted for the
majority of the Firemen's runs
with a two ruu home run and a
run scoring single. Mainstreet
saw every playei collect at least
one hit as they bombed the Fire-
men's pitching staff of Bob
Wilson, Don Hulley and Jim Glew
for 21 hits while the Firemen
could muster only 6 nits off
winning pitcher Jack Price.
The third game of the series
will he played Sunday afternoon as
Monday's game was called
because of rain. A win for
Mainstreet will give them a
sweep of the series and the
playoff trophy along with they
league championship.
