25. III Memoriam
THORNTON - In loving memory
of Joseph Thornton who passed
away September 10th, 1966 and
Kenneth Thornton who passed
away August 21st, 1942.
To a beautiful life' came a
sudden end,
They died as they lived,
everyone's friend,
They were always thoughtful,
loving and kind,
What a glorious memory to
leave behind.
o one knows the depth of our
eep regret,
As we long for their smile,
t cannot get.
So lease God take a message,
To our loved ones up above,
An tell them how we miss
them,
And give them our never-end-
ing love.
-Always remembered by wife
and Mbther Mary and daughter
and sister Mrs. Ed. Regele and
Mr. Ed. Regele. 25-3-1
McLEAN In loving memory
of our dear baby son, Robert
Raymond, who died suddenly
September 3, 1972;
He was only a sweet little
rosebud
A sweet little flower from
birth '
God took him home to heaven
Before he was soiled on earth
Two little hands are resting
A loving heart is still
A little son we loved is waiting
For us just over the hill.
- Lovingly remembered and sadly
missed by Mommy and Daddy.

',with tomatoes
Red, ripe and full-flavored,
fresh tomatoes are one of late
summer's most wonderful treats
and a'welcome one indeed.
If vine-ripened tomatoes
flourish in your garden you can
enjoy the bursting Juiciness and
marvellous flavor of freshly_
picked tomatoes. U you are
buying them in the local market
look for plump, firm tomatoes
with a unifoinn red color and
unbroken skin.
Store ripe tomatoes un-
covered in the refrigerator, but
ripen the not-quite -ripe ones at
room temperature away from
direct sunlight. .
Tomatoes are an important
source of certain nutrients. One
medium tomato provides four
times as much vitamin A as an
orange and two medium tomatoes
contain the same amount of vita-
min C as an orange.
Tomatoes have a wide variety
of uses and fit easily into any.
meal. Probably one of the most
delightful ways of eating this
luscious food is in the form of
the ever-popular tomato sand-
wich. Who could possibly resist
such .an experience - biting into
juicy slices of fresh tomato be-
tween two pieces of fresh bread;
Here are a few more sandwich
ideas which 'can-tie enjoyed with
summer lomatoes,.. TIZSaitilktn
while tomatoes are at their peak
Of goodness.
Spread• • slices of rye bread
with butter, margarine or mayon-
naise. Top with sliced tomatoes
and cooked corned beef. Sprinkle ,
tomatoes with chopped green
onions or chives. Serve with
prepared mustard. Voilal An
Open-Faced Corned Beef and To-
mato on Rye!
For the lunch-box crowd, pack
sliced tomato, buttered bread,
lettuce and salt and pepper sepa-
rately. Assemble sandwich when
ready to eat.
Use tomato wedges to garnish
your favorite sandwich plate.
For easy entertaining, serve •
platters of cold meats, cheese
assorted breads and, of course,
sliced tomatoes. Let everyone
make their own delicious
sandwich.
Try broiled, open-face cheese
and tomato sandwiches for a
breakfast treat.
