Most people recover quickly
from an insect sting. For a few
people, however, a sting by a
honeybee, bumblebee or wasp
can be as fatal as a snake bite.
Simple precautions will help en-
sure that you don't become a
victim, says Professor P.W.
Burke, Environmental Biology
Department, University of
Guelph.
Remember that these stinging
insects will be more prevalent
in picnic areas or around flower
beds. When working in such an
area, use an insect repellent
or wear protective clothing.
Avoid "hairdressings or per-
fumes with floral scents.

Thursday night the Little,-
Girls' Softball completed their
season schedule with the Broom
Mites coached by Virginia Dalton
• topping the Mite division while
the Wipe .Outs coached by Ba-t
„._WeSenberg topped the Pee Wee
Division.
The Wipe Outs defeated the
Base Trotters 21' to 7 and the
Broom Mites defeated the Cole-
man Mites 21 to 12.
Friday evening the Pee Wees
were invited to Brodhagen for an
exhibition game. An All-Star
team was chosen from the three
teams,
The Brodhagen girls proved
the better team defeating"Sea-
forth 36 to 7 but most of the
girls agreed the- experience was
well worth the defeat.
Next week the playoff will
start so it is hopeful the girls will
all be able to come and help
their tearn.
