U'oronto, April 11.—The result 'of
the meeting of prohibitionists last
evening with the members of the legis-

sion in temperance circles here.
Ur. J. J. Maelaren, chairman of the
• executive committee of OM Dominion
Alliance, occupied the chair.
Mr. F. S. Spence, eorrespondinge
eeoretary of Alliance, made a strong
appeal for a plebiscite on the question
of prohibition. Ile said a plebiscite
would indicate exactly what might he
the real strength of the prohibition
sentiment, In many of the locelitiee
where it was shown to be strong they
would be able to sweep the liquor traf-
fic out of existence by means of a local
law. He endorsed 1VIr. Blarter'e hill

How many pei sons know that Ripens Tabules, now so largely advertised and used, are simply the
favorite prescription of their family doctor prepared in a scientific manner and a form convenient for hand-
ling, conveyance, preservation and use ? In the great hospitals of the metropolitan cities, where the
wealthy find better care than in their own luxurious bomes, the ingredients of :Ripans Tabules are administer
ed to thousands of rich and poor alike with beneficial effect. They are the inain dependence of the most,
eminent physicians in cases of derangements of the digestive organs, such as dyspepsia,cOnstipation, binowness
and other ills connected with the stomach, liver and boivels. For some years one the principal hospitals -
in New York City has used a formula, differing slightly from the common one, t1q been found of
unusual efficacy, Through commendations of physicians its tnission of healing lute be—el so widely and
rapidly extending that it finally seemed desirable to prepare the prescription in a convenient form, so as to ,
make it available to the whole public at it moderate price, and to announce the fact through the recognised
medium for securing publicity—advertisement in the columns of the newspapers of the land. This has been
done, and now the time is not tar distant when every family of intelligence will be as certain to possess a
supply of Ripans Tabules as a clock or a cooking stove. They aro already to be found on 'sale almost every.
