Wednesday evening. There were

A large crowd of friends and
relatives gathered at Brodhagen
Community Hall on Friday even-
ing to honor Mr. and Mrs. Mau-
rice Ryan on the occasion of
their 25th Wedding Anniversary.
The following is the address:
Dear Maurice, Jean and Family,
We" are4 gathered hererthisieven-
`•ing' telebratie- with yetiottite
oe0aSion' of your 25th Wedding
anniversary. No, wait this one
is a little different! It starts
out:
Tho' it's twenty-five years since
They became man and wife,
Their courtship began
Much sooner in life.
The old Chev. car,
It started the romance,
And there you would find them,
Each night of a dance.
When the rest of the gang
Were in the pub for a sup,
They'd be out In the old Chevy
Alovin' it up.
A more romantic couple
Ne're could you find,
Bul they say that is natural
If you are either Jordan or Ryan!
They were married four years
Before they had Joe,
But they lived next to the school
And the sign says, "Go Slow!"
They're only a little bit
South of the town,
But we never fOund out
Who took that sign down!
The oldest is Joe,
A very fine lad,
But on courting the girls
He has nothing on Dad.
But never mind Joe,
There's a difference between
That old girl of yours
And the one we call Jean.
Then comes Maureen and Mar-
ilyn,
They love to play ball,
But the boys say at courting,
They're no good at all.
But if practice makes perfect,
And I'm sure it holds true,
We can look for an improvement
In the next day or two.
And next comes Kevin,
Who goes to Mitchell HighSchool
And for reading and writing,
He'd rather shoot pool.
He likes a good time
14o matter the cost,
When exams roll around,
He just simply gets lost.
Then there is Gary and Greg,
Who are just little boys,
Who would much rather fight
Than play with their toys.
You don't watch them long
When it's plain to be seen,
They don't go for smoo-
chin'
Like Maurice and Jean.
And last is Margaret Ann,
And she's Net a baby,
Will it always be thus?
We'll just smile and say
timaybe."

from Pendulum Players, a young
peoples theatrical group of Gode-
rich, asking County Council to
reconsider its denial of facilities
at the former Huron County Jail
to the group council upheld a
recommendation from property
Committee ,on Friday refusing
use of the premises.
Last year the group was
granted use of the former jail
facilities.
In a brief filed with the coun-
cil by Peadithiln players it was
explained that the group is an
organization formed of local high
school and university students,
"united in a single aim of pre-
senting gratis theatre to the resi-
dents of and visitors ' to
Goderich."
"The jail provides all the
necessary ingredients for the
group to be a success,;; the
brief said. "It provides a home
"We realize," the brief went
on, "that the main objection to

of safety around the construction

chairman of the Huronview Board
of management, and C.A.
Archibald, Huronview adminis-
trator, told the meeting. that the
waiting list for bed care is
steadily growing. They told the
members there was no increased
pressure in other service areas
at Huronview but that more space
for bed care residents was a
growing need.
In his report; Mr. McCutcheon
noted, "You will have noted there
have been large numbers of appli-
cations in the past few months.
As a result we now have a wait-
ing list for the bed care
sections."
"If this trend continues, it
appears consideration will have
to be given to an addition, or
a new building elsewhere to
provide accommodation rather
than in hospital where the rates
range from a minimum of ap•
proximately $40 per day."
"Our bed care section at the
present time is operating at a
maximum of $14 per resident
day."
In other Huronview matters
County Council passed a resolu-
tion, which will be sent to 'All
the counties and regions of On.;,
tario, the Ontario Association
of Homes for the Aged, Murray
Gaunt and Jack Riddell, calling
for petitioning of the Pilinister of
Comminity and Social Services
Rene Brunelle to allow any excess
income of extended care resident
to be applied against anyarrears
of maintenance.
