entertained ue on Monday after-
noon. The programme opened
with a singsong. The group.sang
numbers including "The More We
,Get Together", "Smile Sorig",
Little Brown Jun", When Irish
Eyes are Smiling," "My Bonnie;'
"The Happy Wanderer".
A greelp or boys and girls I
recalled the past with a good
Old-fashioned Square Dance.
Tanya de Groot told about a
"Mortifying Mistake." Dancers
were Wands Fell; Michael Cos-
tello, Michael Mero, Mary Hen-
, driks, Maureen Hutchinson,
Allan Nigh, Bobby Menheere,
Colleen Ryan. A group of girls
did a choral reading, The Three
Little Pige.. Janice McCue,
Cindy Anstett, Cathy Anderson,'
Maureen Hutchinson, Colleen
Ryan and Norine Primeau.
Joe Aubin and Wanda Fell
recalled the past with "Put on
Your Old Gray Bonnett". The
class accompanied them. Folk
* songs have become part of our
modern music and they sang three
of their favourites "Prayer of
St. Francis", "Joy Is Like the
Rain," "The wedding Banquet!'
It was good to see a name
tag on each child.' 'Miss Turn-
bull thanked the group. and
commented on their splendid
rendition. Frank Vincent acted
as 'Master of Ceremonies.
Michael Mero told us of the
"Song of the All Wool Shirt."
Hearty congratulations to
Mrs. Mary Allan of Cromarty
who celebrated her 89th birth-
day on June 18th. She spent the
day at her daughter and son-
in-laA, Mr. and Mrs. Murray
Christie. Mr., and Mrs. Alf
Ross also spent the day with her.
Out-of-town visitors with her
were: Mrs. Violet Quance,
Bracebridge, Mrs. Colin Mac
Dougald and Mrs. Edwin Taylor,
Kippen.
Birthday Greetings to Miss
Lizzie Henderson who celebrated
her 95th birthday on June 21st.
For many years, Miss Henderson
was organist at Duff's Church,
McKillop haying begun her career
there at a very tender age.

The 108th anniversary of
Cromarty Presbyterian Church
was observed on Sunday. Guest
speaker for the occasion was the
Rev. Dennis Clarke of. Atwood.
WM) Mrs. Freeman Horne as
organist, the youth choir sang
"Everything i,s peautuer, and the
full choir rendered "Heaven
Came Down". They were assis-
ted by the guest soloist, Mrs.
Colleen Claybournet of Kirkton.

Hullett
Possibility of assistance' to
the Recreation committee in
Blyth was discussed by. Hullett ,
council at its June meeting.
Agreeing with Joe Hunking,
who spoke to council on behalf
of the committee, that some
assistance was in order, council
suggested that the committee
preserit some form of Budget
so all municipalities and orga-
nizations concerned would know
what their share should be.
Norman Alexander was pre-
sent to ask questions concerning
the new garbage collection
system - how the programme was
initiated, how the proportionate
rates were established, and won-
-ciered about the equity. Council
explained that this was a new
venture and that provision had
been - made -on both sides for
adjustments for any reason.
William Little was interes-
ted in opening a landfill site for
the use tbe_TQw_n_eiltlet Be-
fore Council could act, it was
eeplained the site would have et;
be approved by the' fiepartment
of Health.
Motions adopted by council
included:

has been advised that the finger

Mr. and Mrs. Brian Richman
hive moved into the home which
they purchased from the George
Wallace estate. Mr. Richman is
a salesman and his business will
be known as the Cromarty Sign
Shop. Mrs. Richman is a teacher
at Central Huron Secondary
School in Clinton,
AT THE PARK
Staffa Senior Boys won one
game and lost one during the
past week. In a- game against
Blanshard, played on the Kirkton
diamond, they came out on the
short end of a 10-8 score. Three.
runs were scored by Staffa in
the first inning, and five in the
eighth, while Blanshard had four
in the second and two in each
of the first, third and sixth.
With Warren Moore •pitching
and Mike Parsons catching, Staffa
Seniors defeated Goulds onSatur-
day night by a score of 15 to 10.
In the Hibbert and Usborne
Bantam League, Hibbert South
boys lost out to Thames Road
by a score of 7-5. Batteries
for Hibbert, were Maurice Ruston
and Ronnie Elliott.
A man's league has agaln,been
formed and action began on Sun-
day night. In the first gaMe,
.Chiselhurst defeated Staffa 8-6
and in the second, Cromarty' won
over Roys, 25-17.

ject to approval, of Dept. ofHigh-
ways. Tender price of 48 1/2e

48 1/2e per cu. yd. for clay.

Hunking's bid for 10,000 yds "B"

A statement-'was presented
as required under Section 222,
M.A., by the Treaeurer, showing
the half yearly assets. Out-
standing loans amount to $24,000
and tax arrears for three years
are $55,653.00.

At the regular meeting of the
A.C.W. at the rectory in Exeter,
President Mrs. G.A.' Andersen
presided and opened the meeting
with devotions from The Living
Message. Mrs. W. Sc rabuik read
the scripture lesson from Core
rinthians, followed by prayers by
Miss Olive Petty, Mrs. D. Wind-
over and. Mrs. E. J. Roberts.
Mrs. Windover gave a report of
the Deanery meeting in Kincar-
dine. Mrs. Anderson read por-
tions of the News Letter and
stressed the need for more mis-
sionary funds.
Mrs. F.- Clark took the study
entitled "Appreciation is' Ma-
ygi*c". An auction sale in, con-
junction with Trivitt• Memorial
Church was planned for late sum-
mer. The next meeting will be a
picnic in July on the Church
lawn. Mrs. Anderson explained
the fellowship of the Least Coin.
The meeting closed with prayer
after which everyone went to the
Parish Hall to enjoy a program
of slides and solos followed by a
delicious lunch,
UNITED CHURCH NOTES • t
"Suspended Christians" was
the sermon topic preached by '
Rev. Don Beck at the Hensel],
United Church Sunday morning.
The choir sang the anthem ac-
companied by •Mrs. Turkheim on
the organ and Mrs. Joyce Pep-
per on the piano. This service
concluded services at Chisel-,
hurst and Hensall Churches for
the month of July. Carmel Pres-
byterian Church services will be
held at 11:15 a.m. during the month
of July. Services at Chisel-
hurst and Hensall United will re-
sume again in August.

The 5th annual , Bolton-Ford
reunion was held June 24th at the
summer home of Mr. and Mrs.
J. C. Munn, Ipperwash. There
was a perfect attendance. Sports
were under the supervision of

Three new babies were intro-

iel Munn. A smorgasbord supper
concluded the afternoon; after
which Mrs. John Munn gave out
gifts to each of the thirty chil-

The 26th annual Pepper Re-
union was held in Seafanth.Lions
Park Sunday afternoon with 52
present. Sports were conducted
under the leadership 'of Roy and
Irene pepper and Roy and Barb
Walter. Results are as follows:

Norman and Edna Pepper, Stew-
art and Grace Pepper. It was
voted to hold the 1974 picnic hi
the Lions Park at Seaforth on
the fourth Sunday of June.
Firemen were called last Fri-
day morning to the W. G. Thomp-
son and Son Mill when a cleaner
in the mill burned.
Mrs. Ernest Pym, who has
been a patient In South Huron
Hospital Exeter for the past two
weeks, returned home Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Wanner,
Shirley and Kenneth, Sarnia; Mr.
and Mrs. Hubert Hunter, Ellin-
ville; Mr. and Mrs. John Pym and
family, Exeter; Mrs. Knight and
Mr. and Mrs. Torn Haley, Sea-
forth visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Pym on Sunday.
Mrs. Maude Hedden is a pa-
tient in South Huron Hospital
where she is undergoing treat-
ment Eric Mansfield is a patient in
St. Josephs Hospital, London
where he underwent surgery
