years at, service to Blyth. He was Blyth Public Utilities
CoMmission foreman. He is' still active in his own elec-
trical cpntracting firm. Two area members of Parlia-.
ment were present. Robert McKinley, M.P.. extended con-
gratulations to Mr: Thuell while Murray Gaunt, M.P.P.
for Huron-Bruce presented Mr. Thuell with a scroll from
the Province of ontario signed by' William Davis, Premier
of On+ntio. - - Mr. Don Scrimgeour, former butcher at
LG.A., Seaforth, Was reported moving to Lucknow where
he had purchased the butcher shop there but when the deal
fell through, he bought the Blyth Meat, Market which had
closed recently due to illness of the proprietor, Ernest '
Button. He opened on Saturday -for business in his home
town. - - - Mr. Norm Shaw, Kitchener was hired last week
by Blyth council as clerk-treasurer, replacing retiring
Irvine Wallace as clerk-treasurer and secretary-treasurer
of the Blyth P.U.C. •- - Nearly 200 perscins registered
Saturday for the convention of District 8. of the Ontario
Horticultural Societies held in Blyth at Memorial Hall.
Aesording to the Exeter Times-Advocate Stephen
Council Tuesday .night gave 'approval to a request 'from
the Exeter and area fire board to purchase a new fire .
engine. The township will pay 11. per cent of the cost of
a new machine expected to cost in the neighborhood of
$32,000. - - - A total of 22 ladies took part in Sunday's
' bike-a-thon from Exeter to Dashwood, a 16 mile ride,'

Norman Whiting, the chairman, reported -Wednesday that

marked their 50th wedding anniversary on April 28th

According to the Clinton News-Record, Gus Roussey,
Manager of the Clinton P.U.C. was elected president of
the Association of Municipal Electrical Utilities, District
6, at their annual Meeting in Milvertoif last Friday. The

than 250 Rebekahs-attended the 25th anniversary cele-
bration of Monkton Star Rebekah Lodge No. 345 to the
Atwood Community Centre Friday evening. There were
visitors from Listowel, Stratford, Atwood, St. Marys,
Brussels, Exeter, Clinton, Seaforth, Hens,911, Goderichi
Paluierston, Harriston and Kitchener with °niters from
the Brussels Lodge conducting the opening ceremonies.
District Deputy president of Stratford District No. 29,
Mrs. Janet Noble, St. Marys made her official visit and
spoke- briefly on,ideas about being good Rebekahs. •
The Lucknow Sentinel reports that the 100th anniversary
services of the Lucknow 'Presbyterian Church were held
on Sunday' morning with a large attendance. Dr. Finlay
. Stewart of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Kit-
chener, guest speaker at' both services and Rev. Glenn

tunities for Youth" program with eight students involved.

Thirty members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Hensall
Branch 468, according to the Zurich Citizens News, were
