Among the electives available are cooking, crocheting, drama, dancing and wood working. Kay and Mrs. N. McKay. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mac- Donald and family of Mitchell have taken possession and moved on Saturday to a house on Ann St. recently pnichased from Steve Maloney.. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Eckert and family of Sheffield spent the 'J weekend ,with Mrs. G. Kramers. Mrs.' S. D. Wright of Mill St. South had the misfortune to fall and fracture her ankle mid will be in a cast for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. 'Jimmy Eckert and ramify of Waterloo spent the weekend with his brothers and sisters here. Mrs. Mary Jordan of London is spending a few weeks with her family here. Miss Marie Krauskopf of Ha- milton spent the weekend with her mother Mrs. Kate Kraus- kopf. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cleary, Karen and Kevin with Mrs. Frank Evans on the weekend. Plans were made to enter-the following teams in W.O.A.A., pee-wee girls team for girls born in 1960-1961 coached by Charlene and Dave Brown; a 'bantam girls' team for girls born in 1958.1959, coached by Frank Sri xer and Larry Cook-;a. mid- get girls' team for girls born In 1956-1957 coached by George Du- charme and Norman McKay, and a juvenile or junidr team coached by Joe Cronin and Maurice Ryan. Joe Delaney and Jack Horan agreed to examine the feasibility of entering a team for boys, under 19 years in a softball league. Boys and girls house league will also be established. Boys interested in playing ball are asked to con- tact George Ducharme. Additional coaches are needed for the house league, and those interested are asked to please contact Larry Cook. All girls' born in 1956-1957 who would like to play W.O.A.A. midget ball, are asked to meet at the ball park in Dublin on Sunday, May 6th at 1 p:m. .Mrs. Jack Burchill hosted the annual meeting of the Dublin W. 1. when all officers in the Institute were returned for the coming year. Friend _of the Executive Meet- ing at Russeldale. The District Pupils win at Mitchell Festival At the Mitchell Music Festi- val, the folloWing in this corn- munity were Winners in piano classes. Piano• Solo, 3rd prize, Mary Anne McIver. Piano Duet, 1st prize, Perry Rose and Donald Melady. Oracle 8 piano solo, Maureen Delaney, Mr. and Mrs. ' Fred Dipple Trophy, Maureen Dela- ney. Piano Trio, Donald Melady teamed up with Carolyn and Lau- ra Taylor of Mitchell and won second prize. Betty Anne Kroe- nan teamed -with Stephen Pinder to get 4th in piano duet (junior) Sight Reading, 1st prize, Donald Melady. Donald Melady also won the, $10 scholarship for Sight Reading of all classes. • • These are pupils of Mrs.. Pearl Priestap, Mitchell. 4-11 Egmohdville 4-H met at the home of Debbie Rose when Pam Geddes, the President, led' in saying- the 4-H Pledge. Debbie Rose read the minutes and the discussion was about the fashion 'show for Achievement day on June 16. PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. Charles Geddes and family spent the Easter week- end in Sarnia with Mr. and Mrs. James Cameron. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bed- ford Dungey and family. 'visitors with Mr. Ernie Toll this weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Bedford Dungey, Bonnie, Brenda and Joey Visser of Sarnia. Mr. and Mrs. James Cameron of Sarnia -visited with Mr. and, Mrs. Charles Geddes and family. They also called on Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Coutts of Walton and Mrs. James Coutts who is spend- ing a. few days at her son's after getting out of hospital. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hophfner on Easter Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. W. Bahr and girls from Orangeville. St. Peter's Lutheran Church was the centre of many activities in the past, week. Qn Monday, the Luther League had a paper drive and gathered nearly two and and a half ton of news- papers. Another one will beheld in the fall. During the service on Sunday. morning, Ann Marie Beuermann, daughter or Mr. and Mrs. William lieuermann was baptized by the Rev. A:Horst. Miss Mary Beuer- mann, Hamilton, and -Earl Rock, Kincardine are her sponsors. Flowers were placed on the altar and in stands beside the altar in loving memory of the deceased members of thel.C.W. Flowers were alsO in church from the funeral of the,, late Harvey Wolfe and in loving memory of the late* Henry E. Diegel, who died one year ago. Sunday afternoOn the Lutheran Church Women held.' the 40th, Anniversary celebration of the organization. On May 3, 1933, under the direction of the Rev. Frledrichsen, the women of St. Peter's Congregation were or- ganized. The officers Of , this group, first called the Ladies' Aid were: President, .Mrs. John Bennewies; • Vice-President, Mrs. S. Friedricksen; Secretary, Miss Martha Vietor' and Treasurer, Mrs. Wm. Queren- gesser. There were 64 members by the end, of the year. ' As time passed by the name of the group changed toD.L.C.W. (United ,Lutheran Church Women). in 1958 and then changed again to its present name, L.C.W. in 1962. ',Lutheran Church Wo- ' men" seeks to be an instrinnent of Christian Mission, in'helping the church declare the Good News Of Jesus Christ. Over the years the group. has been very active and has participated in many worthwhile endeavours both at home and , abroad. The members ,and former members attended the cele- brations. Former members at- tended from Maple, Waterloo, Kitchener, Conestoga, Stratford, Seaforth, Mitchell and surround- ing areas. The oldest member present was Mrs. Lena Benne:- wies from the Kilbarchan Nursing Home, Seaforth. The basement and anni- versary cake were decorated with ruby as the basic colour. The wive of the churdh coun- cil served -supper at,5 p.m. after which reminiscences were made by the Rev. Harold Brill, Rev. Eric Shultz, Ffev. John Arbuckle, and former Presidents of the group. The present •President, WS. Edgar Elligsen welcomed everyone who was able to attend.
