Mr. Aire Van Der Ende led the service and the devotional period. The Auxiliary met in the craft room on Monday after- noon and as well as assisting with the quilting discussed new projects and made plans for the coming year. One o! the projects the annual Blossom Tea and sale of home baking and crafts will be held at the Home on Wednesday, May 2nd from 2 - 4 o'clock. Assistant Administrator Ed Rowe attended the meeting and outlined some of the needs of the home. The urgent need at the present time is a vehicle such as a minibus that would accommodate wheelchairs. The AuxiliarS, decided to go ahead with raising money for the purchase of the vehicle as the Main project of the year. They hope to have the assistance of other organizations and people of Huron County in this venture. Rev. Dr. Mowatt of Clinton showed coloured slides of Arizona on Family Night that were taken' byhdit and his wife during their winter holiday. Dr. M owatt's pictures and commentary were very interesting with several slides of the Grand Canyons and flowering cactus. Miss Pearl Gidley was pianist for the sing a long and also played several numbers at the start of the program. Mrs. Paisley, who by the way lived in Arizona for severg months a few years ago, ,thanked Dr. Mowatt on behalf of the resi- dents. NEWS OF Auburn Mrs. Jas. Paterson and daughter, Sheryl, London, spent 'Sunday with Mrs. A. Paterson and Mrs. Sholdice. Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Thomson visited on Saturday with Mrs. Thomson's sister and family, Walkerton. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Peterson Sarnia; Mr. and Mrs. Peterson, Hamilton, spent the weekend with Mrs. Peterson's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Henderson. Mrs. Paul Packman has re- turned home after spending some time with her parents in Kingston. Mr. and Mrs. Gregor McGre- gor hope to celebrate their fif- tieth anniversary on April 21. OUR MISTAKE In a story in last week's issue Concerning a meeting held recently in Dublin at which Dr. Hart Bezner spoke, the word "hysterotomy" appeared incor- rectly as ',hysterectomy". A card party was held in the Parish Hall friday night with eight tables playing. High Ladies' Prize, Dianne Thompson; Men's High, Cyril Boyle; Ladies' Low, Mrs. Jim Findon; Men's Low, Terry Foran; Doo'r Prize, Terry Foran. A farewell party was held in the Parish Hall in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry VanAaken and family of six children, Wilma, Harold, Frank, Robert, Brian, and Mary Ellen. The family is moving to a farm near Hayfield. Mr. and Mrs. VanAaken and family were called to the plat- form and an address was read by Robert MacAllister. A pre- sentation was made by Cyril Boyle and Cecil Cranston, of a chair , 2 end tables and two lamps and a game of Ping Popg to the children. St. Augustine people extend their congratulations to Gordon Kinahan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Klnahan who was captain for a second time on Saturday night when his team won the series Division C Pee wee cham- pionship. Mr. DaVid MacAllister cele- brated his ninety-first birthday at the Pine,Crest home in Luck- now. He is still quiet active and 'enjoys hockey. He is in- terested in all affairs around Lucknow and St. Augustine where he lived until last fall when he sold his farm. He has one neice Mrs. Tom Bailey of Oak Lake, Manitoba.
