in the future.
The board endorsed a resolution
from the Lambton County Board
of Education and the Lambton
Separate School Board which will
be presented to the Ontario Sep-
arate School Trustees Associa-
tion Convention in April. Some
of the areas of concern in the
resolution are:
That it should be illegal for chil-
dren to be made to stand on
school buses.
That school bus flashing lights
should be used in all speed zones.
That all school bus drivers be
skilled in the operation of fire
protection equipment; should
have a knowledge of first aid;
and be trained in procedures to
be followed if bus is stranded
in a severe storm; etc.

which is four weeks prior to the
day of the election.
The third resolution; the in-
tent of the legislation is to sat-
iSfactorily dispose of all com-
plaints in the municipality, there-
fore be It resolved that the revi-
sion period be amended to be the
date which is four weeks prior
to the date of elections in the
year in which elections are held
and the 10th day of November in
the year elections are not held.
The fourth resolution asks that
the Ontario Separate School
Trustees' Association organize a
one-day seminar for Separate
school representatives on Boards
of Education in order that they
may study the apportionment of
ordinary and extraordinary ex-
penditures between elementary
and secondary panels; the appor-
tionment of credit re capital
assets between elementary and
secondary panels; the effect of
unapproved extraordinary ex-
penditures as they affect separate
school supporters and public
school supporters; and the limit=
ations on building programs
which could cause some public
elementary schools to no longer
house Grade El students who would
be transferred to a secondary
school. Will the elementary
panel pay for instruction? Will
rent be paid by the elementary
panel for use of secondary school
facilities?

The first resolution asks that
the act respecting municipal
elections be amended to extend
the period for completion of the
work of enumeration or that the
number of enumerators be in-
creased to adequately contact all
resident property owners and
tenants within the time period,
and that the fee structure for
enumerators be revised to an
hourly rate plus travelling allow-
ance, rather than present name
basis rate which encourages a
hasty if not unsatisfactory com-
pletion of work.
The second resolution calls for
the last day for filing compaints
on the preliminary list of elec-

John Vintar, Superintendent of
Education for the Separate School
Board requested integrated
transportation services for all
pupils attending Sacred Heart i
School, Wingham, Turnberry
Central public School and F. E.
Madill Secondary School, with
particular emphasis on the align-
ment of dismissal times at all
schools mentioned.
Last summer the administra-
tions of both boards discussed
integration of services, but the
proposal was prohibited by a stag-
gered dismissal time at F. E.
Madill.
Presently the two boards have
integrated services for McKillop
Township and parts of Grey, Hul-
lett and Morris Townships.
Mr. Vintar is hoping for shared
bits service by September.
In other business, the board
approved in principle„a proposed
building program for Exeter Pub-
lic School but a final decision
was withheld until a feasibility
Study 'is conducted by ttfe Minis-
try of Education and the exact
amount of available funds is
known.
Another recommendation from
the Education Committee was
approved in principle that of
converting surplus classrooms
for library facilities in element-
ary schools where no library
facility exists, subject to bud-
getary considerations.
Final approval was withheld on a
