Parents attended and leaders showed and explained different types of knit fabrics. Mrs. O'Rourke sug- gested that the girls should make something they, were capable of doing. Officers elected are: pres- ident; Eleanor Devereaux; vice- president, Rose Marie Kelly; treasurer, Clare Devereaux; press reporter, Kim Anstett. It was agreed to pay the leaders for food. The spiritual convenor, Mrs. John Maloney reported that 12 members at- tended the World's pay of Pray- er, the theme being "Alert in our Time." On this occasion, Mrs. Joseph McConnell was guest speaker and Mrs. J, Maloney read a portion of the servipe. Invitations were received to attend meetings at Bethel Bible Church and Northside United church. Fr. Laragh spoke briefly on the Commandments as being a help for all to be compared to the "railing on a stairway" and that this was God's way of showing His love for us. We should not consider Lent as a penance but as a means of getting closer to God and as a preparation for the Easter invita- tion to meet the Lord. The meeting closed with pray- er and Fr. The others are Mayor Symons of Clinton and Mayor Sills of Seaforth. - - - The Goderich Canada Manpower Centre has recently ap- pointed Larry Dillon, a 28-year-old Seaforth native, as a co-ordinator of a program for student jobs this sum- mer. He took up his duties on February 19th and already has contacted a number of .employers in connection with providing summer jobs.
