on the glamour with a wine sauce.

A simple cornmeal batter
makes a tasty wrapper for a hot
dog. Frankfurters, dipped in
batter to coat and then dropped
into hot fat to fry, rate raves
from the school set. Make the
batter by sifting together one cup
flour, 3 /4 cup cornmeal, 2 table-
spoons sugar, 11/2 teaspoons
baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon
salt. Cut in 2 tablespoons of
lard until mixture has fine, even
crumb. Add milk to 1 slightly
beaten egg to fill oneettfp mea-
sure, add to batter until blended.
Dip frankfurters from one pound
package, one at a time, into bat-
ter. Carefully drop into hot lard
(330 degrees F.) and fry until
coating is lightly browned. Call
them Franks in Blankets and
serve 'to hungry kids or adults
for a real treat.

WONG'S GRILL
SHE'S HAPPY AND CHATTY
Tammy was five before she could talk. Now at eight,
soon-to-be nine, she is a real chatterbox.
Tammy ,has been attending a school for the retarded but
is now in a special class in the regular school. She will con-
tinue' to need special classes. Tammy will do her best there
for she is a determined child who perseveres with anything
she tries to do and is proud of her achievements.
A pretty girl, tall for her age, Tammy has brown eyes,
dark hair, medium complexion and rosy cheeks. She is very
nearsighted but otherwise In good health.
Lovable Tammy gets on well with other children and is
attentive to and protective over a toddler in her foster home.
She is normally happy and has developed a good amount of
self-confidence in a foster home where she feels she is
warmly accepted.
Tammy likes" to sing, alone or with others, and enters
enthusiastically into all the group activities at school. She
is fond of books with pictures.
Tammy has learned to skate and is taking swimming
lessons. She is becoming interested in domestic affairs and
enjoys helping her foster mother.
Tammy needs a family who will appreciate her lovable
sweet personality and will not be concerned over academic
achievement. It will be ideal if there are older brothers and
sisters to take an interest in her and for her to admire.
To inquire about adopting Tammy, please write to To-
day's Child, Box 888, Station K, Toronto M4P 2H2. For
general adoption information, please contact your local
Children's Aid Society.
