The A.C.W. of St. Peel's
Church met at the home of Mrs.
F. Forrest, with the President
Mrs. G.A, Anderson presiding.
The meeting began by singing
"Z coifs King shall Reign Victor-
ious", followed by meditations
from the Living Message, taken
by Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. R.H.
Middleton. Scripture readings
were read by Mrs. D. Windover,
and Mrs. Annie Reid. Miss Olive
Petty led in the Litany, and Mrs.
F. Clarke and Mrs. F. Forrest
offered prayers. The World Day
of prayer will be held March 2
in St. Paul's Anclican Church.

Mr. Graham told a questioner
an extension would cost $1.25
per month extra. He said he
was amazed that the System's
offer of the free installation of
an extension had resulted in about
43 of them being added to the
system.
The only commissioner of
the three-man commission to
attend the meeting was. Arthur
Nicholson of R.R,2, Seaforth. He
expressed regret at the death
last summer of the chairman of
the commission, Albert Shirray,
and of the illness of the other
commissioner, Harvey Coleman,
R.R.1, Zurich, who was unable
to attend. Mr. Nicholson said
he was glad to see so many out
to the meeting, the largest atten.-
dance he had ever seen in the
many years he had been going
to the meetings.
William L. Rowcliffe of R.R.
1, Hensall, was elected commis-
sioner for a three-year term
to fill the vacanty created by the

also nominated but lost out in the
vote to Mr. Rowcliffe.
Pepper and Mrs. Frank Forrest
played two piano duets. Mrs.
Windover read portions of the
Newsletter. The roll call was
answered with a Bible verse with
the word "angel'.' in it.

The Bowling- lanes at the
Zurich Bowling Alley were full

"Comforting Cora," Mrs. D.
Triebner received a gift for a
birthday close to Feb. 21.
Report for Citizenship and
World Affairs was given• by Mrs.
Stewart Pepper, and for Family
and Consumer Affairs by Mrs.
R. Kinsman. Members are to
bring a friend to the March
meeting, an article for the Chil-
dren's Hospital London, a recipe
of a supper dish for the new
cook book. The Cook Book Com-
,mittee consists of Mrs. Grant
McLean, Mrs. R. Bell, Mrs. J.
Drummond, Mrs. V. Alderdice.

Birthday party at Huronview.
Mrs. M. Connolly chaired the
meeting and 'Mrs. R. Kinsman
chaired the program opening with
several Valentine poems. Mrs.
E. Whitehouse and her committee
served lunch.
`Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Lovell
are holidaying in the south.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Kerr,
Clinton, visited Mr. and Mrs.
W.L. Mellis.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex McGregor
have returned from a pleasant
holiday in the South.

sited Mrs. Bell's mother, Mrs.
Weir, who is a patient in Strat-
ford hospital.

surgery in St. Joseph's Hospital,

The theme of the United
Church Women's February meet-
ing was "Love". Mrs. Nelson
Baker opened with quiet music.
The Call to Worship was read
by Miss Jean Copeland. Mrs.
Glenn Copeland read the scrip-
ture. Miss aim Copeland read
the Meditation after which read-
ings on "Love" were given by
Mrs. Oliver Baker and Mrs. Ellis
Strahan. Miss Copeland led in
prayer and and Mrs. Grace Mills
read several readings. A poem
was given by Mrs. James Miller.
For a musical number re-
cordings from the Korean Chil-
dren's Choir were played.
A filmstrip entitled "Self Help
in India" was shown by Mrs.
Don Brine.
The president, Mrs. James
Miller conducted the business.
Mr. and Mrs. John Rodd visi-
ted Saturday evening with Mr.
and Mrs. Wilfred Douglas of
Mitchell.
The Messengers held a skat-
ing party on Saturday afternoon
followed by lunch served by the
leaders, Mrs. Ted Brine and
Mrs. David Wheeler.

on material was discussed and
the girls layed their materials
