To select a Liberal Candidate to contest the Provincial
Riding of Huron in the By-election to be held Mar.
15/73.
All persons who are members in good standing and on the
membership roll of the Huron Liberal Riding Association, 72
hours prior to the holding of the nominating convention 'shall
be eligible to vote. The constitution also allowd that any Im-
mediate pest member of the association may renew his mem-
bership at the convention, prior to the cornmeneeinent of the
voting.

On Jan 18th-ainder past events,
an account of the general meet-
in of Thursday Jan 11th. In this
account describing the presenta-
tion of the final payment of the
$5,000 pledge to the Seaforth
Community Hospital, I stated that
Comrade Allan Nicholson had
been President at the time that
the pledge had been made by
Branch 156.
I wish to make a public apology
to Comrade Ron MacDonald, who
was actually President at that
time, and under those leadership
the pledge of five thousand dollars
was made to the Seafortit Com-
munity Hospital. Please accept
my sincere apology Comrade
Ron.
PAST EVENTS
Last. Thursday Feb. 8th the
general meeting was held. The

was awarded a trip to the Youth
Pilgrimage to the United Nations,
is to give an illustrated talk of
her experiences when the presi-
dent of the Rebekah Assembly of
Ontario, visits here February
20th.

At the Stem Euchre last week
there was a good turn out, there
were thirteen tables. Winners
were Comrades Wilson Allan and
Bill Wilbee. Thismonthly event
is proving to be very popular.
Bingo last Friday Feb. 9th
attracted seventy-one players
and prizes to the value of $320
were won.

I.O.O.F. are holding Brother-
hood night at the Legion Hall;
Legion members are invited.
Thursday Feb. 22nd - The Le-
gion sponsored Public Speaking
at the Legion Hall.
Saturday Feb. 24th - Dance at
the Legion Hall. Everyone from
18 years and over welcome. (You
do not have to be a Legion mem-
ber.) The monthly draw will
be made during the evening.

report of a recent meeting at
Clinton in regard to the testing
of the eyes of pre-school chil-
dren, so that amblyopia (lazy
eyes) may be detected in time to
avoid partial or total blindness
later, also to detect muscular
weaknesses. Lodges in the dis-
trict plan to assist Huron County
Health Unit in carrying out this
work. Miss Faye-.;Munro is an
eye-technician with the' Health
Unit. Both 1.0.0.F. and Rebe-
kah Lodges can assist the Unit
by publicizing the work and assist
in'transportation of mothers and
children.
