On February 6. Twenty-five
members answered the roll call.
Mrs. Wheatley passed around a
picture and opened the meeting
by asking "What do you see in
the picture?" Stand up, Stand
up for Jesus was sung. Mrs.
Wheatley read the scripture,
Luke 17:19-31 and the meditation.
Mrs. M.E. Reuber took the
Study Book on India and a film
strip was shown entitled ''Self
Help". A poem "Listen Chris-
tian" was read by Mrs. Wheat-
ley.
Mrs. McKenzie reminded
members about several upcoming
events. Mrs. Patricia Clark will
be the speaker at the Presbyterial
in Northslde church February 28.
The March meeting will be at the
home of Mrs. Hoggarth and Miss
Ri„th Cluff.

Wednesday afternoon, when the
Lutheran Church Women held
their monthly meeting. Dr. R.
Whitman, Seaforth, was the guest
speaker and Mrs. Augustine, of
Kitchener brought two films from
the Ontario Heart Foundation.
Twenty-five members and thirty
guests found themselves being
well informed about the heart,
mainly , to have a well-balanced
diet, by reducing saturated fat
and cholesterol in the diet, avoid
excess weight by counting calo-
ries, control high blood pressure,
don't smoke, excercise regularly
and have regular medical check-
ups.

JOSEPH BERNARD DOWNEY
Funeral services for Joseph
Bernard Downey who died Satur-
day, Feb. 10th at his residence;
157 St. Julien Street, London, will
be held in St. Columban Church
at11 a.m. on Saturday.
He is survived by sisters,
Mrs. Charles (Mary) Noxell,
Goderich and Mrs. Henry (Ger-
trude) Foley, Stratford. '
The remains will rest at the
Box Funeral Home from 2 o'-
clock Friday until Saturday mor-
ning. Prayers will be held 'at
the funeral home, Friday night
at $ P.M.
MRS. J. D. McBEATH
Alberta F. Moffatt, wife of
the late John' D. ,McHeath of
Hensall, died on Tuesday, Feb-
ruary 13th, 1973 at Seaforth
Community Hospital in her 85th
year.
Mrs. McBeath is survived by
one son, Alex, of R.R.3, Henson,
a sister, Mrs. Lavina Rathwell
of Moosejaw, Sask., two grand-
sons, Ross McBeath of R.R.3,
Kipper. and Douglas McBeath of
Brantford. Also surviving are
five great-grandchildren.

the Bonthron Funeral Chapel,

Mrs. Graham Kerr was hos-
tess for, the February meeting of
the Seaforth Women's Institute
held on Tuesday afternoon.
Rev. and Mrs. I:).L. Patter-
son showed slides on a recent
trip of the Holy Land and the
tomb of Lazarus. They told of
seeing a baptismal Service at the
Sea of Galilee by immersion.
They were introduced and thanked
by Mrs. Alex Pepper who chaired
the program which she and Mrs.
Frank Hunt arranged.
Mrs. Hunt gave the motto
"is it Worthwhile to make Reso-
lutions". Misses LYClia and
Ann Albert contributed several
songs with their own accompani-
ment on guitars.
Mrs. John MacLean, Presi-
dent, chaired the business. Roll
call was answered by "A.needed
local improvement." Plans were
discussed for the Huronview
Birthday Party March 21st.

-That we recommend write-
off of assessment on buildings
demolished on Lot 19, Con.10 and
refund 6/12 of '71 taxes and all
of '72 taxes on$900. assessment.
And at Lot 29, Con. 12. Roll
# 12-42 and refund 10/12 of taxes
on same. Value $950.
-That we Instruct the ditch
commissioner to have the neces-
sary repairs made to the cul-
vert at the road on Conc. 8 &
9, Lot 21 and investigate sur-
rounding drainage area for other
problems.

Association will be permitted
to advertise an exhibition hockey
game between the Flying Fathers'
Team and a local team made up
of. those involved in minor hockey,
in order to raise money for
minor hockey. A poster contest
will be held on, this and the
posters will be judged and the
winners announced the night of
the game. It is hoped to sell
1000 tickets.
The meeting adjourned at
11:30 p.m. and continued as a
committee-of-the-whole.

been a meeting with the Ministry
Of Natural Resource and Huron
County PIanning Board to dis-
cuss the progress being made in
developing the Hallett Wild Life
Area. The Council was in ac-
cord with' the pattern being fol-
lowed and thera is to be another
meeting in Wingham on March
19/3 to discuss further plans and
suggestions and to approve them
and offer new ideas.
