Clerk James McIntosh re-
ported a surplus of $5,185 for
the township for 1972.
Road superintendent . Allan
Nicholson discussed with council
a report by S.M. Ross
Associates, a Goderich En-
gineering firm, of the storm
sewers - and roads at Vanastra.
Council was notified by the
Ministry of Transportation and
Communication that the township
will be allocated for 1973 a
total road subsidy of $53,00Q
($17,000 for construction and
$36,000 for maintenance). Last
year the township was allocated
$51,300.
By letter Council was
extended an invitation to attend
a Brotherhood Night at the Legion
Hall in Seaforth on February
21 at 7 p.m. by the IOOF which
1 s sponsoring the event this year.
Council adjourned at 12:55
a.m. Wednesday. '

ployer In Goderich and the ex-
pansion is expected to provide
employment for an additional
eighty people during the next
two years.
J.F. Farm Machinery distri-
butes farm implements and e-
quipment and will begin manu-
facturing forage boxes and safety
tractor cabs in its new premises.
Production will substantially
-replace present imports and pro-
vide exports to overseas mar-
kets. The plant will employ ten
people in its first operating year
and this figure is expected to
rise to twenty-eight in four years.

drew near, the common remark
was, "It's too bad there's no
snow". Now that it is over,
the remark "It was the best
ever"! has been repeated many
times.
Friday's torchlight parade,
family skating and dance touched
off a very enjoyable week end.

School children gave the Saturday

stimulated this annual eyent.
Competition for adults, be it tug
of war, races on snowmobiles was
further enlivened by activities
in Canada Keep Fit Challenges for
children ages 7 - 15 year,
St. Patrick's School, Dublin,
had the best school float in the
parade, Branch 156 Royal
on all 'models - new and used
Service Club Float, while the 11111101m fun programme.
Canadian Legion was the best,. „club' for including the schools
Commercial Hotel won the Best
Business Float award.
' Snow sculpturing for' schools
will take place later when the
weather is suitable. The cross
country run received great atten-
tion • to conclude 'a well spent
Saturday afternoon.
