The reception was held at

bride's mother received .the
guests in a lime green
dress of polyester trimmed .with
silver lace, accented with black
accessories and wore a corsage
of white carnations and yellow
tinted carnations, The groom's
mother wore a gold A-line dress
of polyester with long ,sleeves r
accented with brown accessories
and had a corsage of white car-
nations and yellow tinted car-
nations.

Calvin College graduating this
summer and, will then enter Cal-

Unit' 1 of Northside . met at
the home of Rev. M.E. , Reuber
and Mrs. Reuber on January 2
for their regular meeting with
new president, Mrs.- McKenzie
in the chair.
' The group was reminded that
there is a box in the entrance
to the church for used stamps.
: An interesting letter from
Anne Reuber in Japan. was read
by Mrs. Belle Roberton.
Plans were made for the next
meeting in February at the home
of Mrs. Graham Kerr:, Standing
at the Portal'' was sung and
devotions were taken by, Mrs.
Grace Broadfoot, Mrs. 'Ida
Close , Mrs. Helen Connell and
Mrs. Helen McKenzie.
Mr. R'euber led in a discussion
on the first chapter of Reve-
lations and was thanked by the
President.

hostess for the January 2nd mee-
ting of Unit 2 of Northside Unit'
ed Church. Nineteen members
answered the roll call.' •

a poem. A short devotional was
given by Mrs. Stewart.

Church was decorated with
candelabra with white tapers.

Mr. and Mrs. G. Lubbers, R.R.

,Mre. A. Peters, R.R.No.2,Brus-
selS, Ontario are the parents of
the groom.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose an Empire
waisted gown of peau-de-soie
with long sleeves. Lace trimmed
the bodice and skirt which ex-
tended to form a train. The gown
was designed and made by' her-
self. ' • Her two tierred veil was
held by a Juliet cap. She carried
a white Bible with' mauve orchid
and YelloWrsweetheart roses.

Hamburg, friend of the bride, was
the maid of honour and the brides-
maids were Joan Hamilton, Lis-
towel, sister of the bride and
Chris Bog, Kitchener,' friend of
the bride. Helen Lubbers, Palm-
erston, sister of the bride was
the Junior Bridesmaid. They
were dressed alike 'in Empire
waisted purple velvet skirts and
mauve chiffon bodices. The bod-
ices and- sleeves were trimmed

Mrs. L. Strong presided for
the opening of the meeting and
read "A Recipe, fin- a Happy
Year," Miss , Mae Smith read
the monthly- and 'yearly financial
report, which showed a busy and
prosperous year. Donations were
made to the Mission and Service
Fund and to a recent burned out
family.
Following installation, Mrs.
Papple commenced her year as
newly-installed president with a
reading, "A New Year is an ad-
venture in Faith." •
Plans -were made to have two
bake sales (spring andlall) rather''
than a bazaar. Lunch was sdr- .
ved by'Mrs.stimore and commit-
-tee of group two.

You'd think this young lad with the twinkling eyes arid the
freckles was' Irish because he reminds you of a leprechaun,
but Ross is Scottish in descent.
This nine-year-old is slight •and healthy with blue eyes,
dark. blond hair, and fair clear skin. ,
' Ross is a happy youngster with a personality to match that
delightful smile, jiejs'kind, considerate and gentle as (ell as
being active and sportg-minded. He is so keen on hockey that he
takes his hockey stick to school every day in case there should
'''be a chance to shoot a few pucks. He also plays on a team.
A dedicated fisherman, Ross is immensely proud of a
picture showing him with his best catch, the biggest bass
caught'last summer in the area whe,re his foster parents were -
holidaying.
Ross is a slow learner and will go through school in
special-education classes. He does well in the non-academic
stream and works hard. , Math is his favorite subject. He is
clever with his hands and will learn a trade later on.

With his happy disposition Ross gets, along Well with both
children and adults, He has many friends in his own age group.
Ross will, be a lovable son for a family where academic .
' achievement is "not a major concern but where qualities V
character' and personality are.
