With the expansion program of a
Gaderich firm and the establish-
ment of a new manufacturing
operation at Vanastra, near Clin-
ton.

ODC performance loan towards
its new welding facility in
Goderich Industrial Park.
The 10,000 sq.-ft. facility
will improve production at the
company's Newgate Street plant.
The firm manufactures auto-
motive exhaust and tail pipes
for Canadian and U. S. markets.
The expansion program has
led to the employment of 40
vaditional staff already aria
further increases are antici-
pated.
Huron Acoustics Industries
Limited will receive a $15,500
performance loan toward the es-
tablishment of a 16,000 sq.-ft.
plant at Vanastra, the former
RCAF base near Clinton.
The company manufactures
wooden enclosures and
assembles hi-fi speakers for the
domestic and export markets.
Huron Acoustics began pro-
duction in October and is em-
ploying about 10 people at pres-
ent. Further staff will be
required as production in-
creases.
Flowers were placed on the
altar of St. Peter's Lutheran
Church on Sunday from Glenn
and Karen Dolmage in loving
memory of their parents who
passed away ten years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Scher-
berth and Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Elligsen were guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Mikel, R.R.3 Mit-
chell. Saturday evening.
Fri,day evening the
Brodhagen Chamber of Com-
merce had as their guests the
Bantam Boy and Midget Girl
Baseball _teams. Each team
won the WOAA championship.
The parents and many others
attended the (oast beef banquet
and dance. Each team received
pictures of their ball team from
their coaches and managers.
The girls' coach and manager
were Mrs. Earl Bennewies and
Mrs. Orville Storey. The boys'
coach' and manager -was
Donald Pfeifer. The Silver
Strings supplied the music for
dancing.
• On Tuesday evening the
L.C.W. held their Christmas
Party in the basement of S
Peter's Lutheran Church. The
Bornholm division served a •
delicious turkey supper, with
all the trimmings for Xmas.
The Brodhagen and
McKillop ladies provided the
program following the meal.
The Rev, and Mrs. Horst
presented a number of musical
selections. Following the
program, a gift exchange was
held. The L.C.W. presented
Pastor and Mrs. Horst with a
/quilt- as a Christmas gift.
The following day the L.C.W.
joined together to entertain
and visit the patients at Kilbar:
chan Nursing Home in'
Seaforth. Treats were given to
each person in the home.
The preceding week ..the
L.C.W. held their annual
meeting. The following were
elected on the executive:
President, Mrs. Edgar Elligsen;
vice president, Mrs. Harold
Rock; secretary, Mrs. Albert
Bauer, treasurer, Mrs." Lloyd
Prueter; mission treasurer,
Mrs. Edwin Scherbarth.
It was decided to have the af-
ternoon meetings begin at 2
p.m. in the future.
Mr. and Mrs. John Cullen,
Preston, visited Mr. and Mrs.
Lavern Wolfe on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris
Schneider attended the funeral
of his aunt, ,the late Mrs. Henry
Schneider at Rostock on Mon-
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ben-
newies, London visited with
Mrs. Norman liennewies and
Cheryl on Sunday.
The family had placed
flowers on the altar of St.
Peter's Lutheran Church in
loving memory of the late
Christian W. Leonhardt, who
passed away two years ago, Mr.
Logan Council
Logan Township Council met
Friday for the 'final meeting for
1972, with all members present.
The Clerk reported that approval
is expected any day from the
Ontario Municipal Board and the
Ministry of Transportation and
Communications for the purchase
of a new road grader from Dom-
inion Road Machinery Sales Co.
Ltd., Goderich. The amount owing
after trading in the 196'7 grader
is $25,152.75 of which $7,802.75
is to be paid in 1972 and the
balance $17,350.00 in 1973.
Council supported the action
of the Ontario Municipal ASso-
ciation protesting the application
of Bell Canada increasing their
rates at this time.
The first meeting of the 1973
Council will be held Monday,
January 8th.

their 45th wedding anniver-
sary. -Mr. Robert Wolfe, British
Columbia, visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Lavern Wolfe last Satur-
