Four tables of euchre and two of bridge were in play. Winner of the euchre prize was Florence Hay and high score for bridge was Dorothy MacLen- Ikn. A Christmas lunch was served by the lunch committee of Olive Traviss, Alice Reid, and Mary Finlayson. The Jan- uary meeting will be held at the home of Mae Habklrk. Cour- tesy remarks were given by the President Jean Lunn to all who made the evening a success and to Mrs. Brown. Briefs Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Cleary were in Toronto, over the week- end and attended the Toronto- Detroit hockey game Saturday night. Mr. Steve Smith of Fan- shaw College is visiting his par- ents Mr. and Mrs. John Smith. Hullett Township Council wound up business for the year at a meeting Friday, in the Lon- desboro, Community Hall with the Reeve and -all Councillors .pre- sent. The problem of an unsatis- factory water supply to some residents of the township was digeussed and the possibility of a township con'trolled supply In the Southwest corner of the town- ship was mentioned. However this was thought to be imprac- tical at the present time and was left for further study in the New Year. There were no suggestions or objections to the zoning Law that is being prepared by, the Town of Clinton. A Special meeting is scheduled for Decem- ber 27th, to discuss and update Township By-Laws. Motions adopted included: that we issue a Building Permit to A. Buffinga for a Corn Crib, Lot 29-30, Con. 8 That a By-Law to authorize participation in the Ontario Mun- icipal Employees Retirement System be passed. That we grant a Building,Per- mit to Bruce Bergsma to erect a barn. That we refundr Dog Tax of $4.00 to Leonard Archambault. That members of 1972 Hull'ett Council be paid $50.00 expense money for attending special Meetings outside the Township. Accounts approved included; General - $1,394.44; Drainage - $4,792.70; Roads - $11,070.80; CotintY. - $61,483.00; Education - $48,390.50 for a total of $127,131.44: - The Regular Meeting of Hul- lett Township Council was held Dec. 5 In the Londesboro Com- munity Hall with the Reeve F ynn and all Councillors presenp„, Mr. ',Pulford from Frank Cowan Insurance Company was present and reviewed some as- pects of the township, policies and to re-value the buildings and contents. The Clerk is to send a letter to the Sanitary Engine6ring Branch in Toronto informing them .of plumbing inspection ar- rangements in the township. Motions adopted included; That we appoint John G. Berry to act as our Agent at Tax Sale to be held on December 12/72 and any later Sale" relating to That we approve land divisiort as requested on Lots 4 and w1/2 of 3, Concession 4; and Lot 3 and Part W1/2 of 2, Concession Hullett Twp. and attach no conditions to the sale. That we endorse the Re- solution of -the Huron County Municipal Officers Association that there be only two dates of payment to the Hurdn County Board of Education. That this, Council consent to the severance . of part of Lot 7 Con. 7, of the Township of Hui- lett, from Alfred Buchanan to Donald Elgin 'Nott as shown on attached Plan and attach no con- ditions. That we instruct the Clerk to send a letter to Hon. Charles McNaughton MPP stating the Council of Hullett will try to co-operate in seeing that the right kind of development takes place near the Hullett Wildlife Area as long As it is not costing the Township lost revenue; and enlist his help in securing a "Grant in Lieu of Taxes" as was suggested we may now be entitled to at a meeting in Wine- ham on December 1st,. That By-Laws to permit planting for the purpose of re- foresting portions of Lot 16, Con 12, and lots 25,26,27, Con. 10 be read and passed. That we raise the/coverage on the Township Shed to $25,000.00 arid the coverage on the Hall to $75,000.00 plus $1,000.00 to cover the contents of the Wo- mens Institute inside the Hall. Accounts approved included; General - $3,809.21; Drainage - $3,403.38; Roads - $4,011.90; Education - $20,205.00. Total - $31,429.49, WINCHELSEA, Correspondent Mrs. Wm.
