Seaforth Beavers dropped a game to Port Elgin Sunocos Sun- day in Port Elgin by a score of 5 - 4. Terry Craig scored two for Seaforth Snowmobile Club held a safety meeting at the Sea- forth Arena on Wednesday evening. The O.P.P. Detach- ment from Goderich had a presentation of slides on safety with a discussion period follow- ing. A film on snowmobiling in the western UnitechStates was shown by Marlen Vincent. The club acknowledged receipt of a letter from Ed. Dorrance of R. R. 2, Seaforth. Mr. Dorrance requested that snowmobilers please stay off his property, located at Lot 33, Concession 6, McKillop Township. Club mem- bers will comply with Mr. Dor- rance's wishes and we hope that. others will do as requested, as it makes it harder for snow- mobilers if people's wishes are Midgets shut out Mitchell (BY Keith Murray) The Seaforth Midgets kept their undefeated streak alive by shutting out Mitchell 4 - 0. The Midgets have collected a total of 11 points of a possible 12 in the 6 games played. On Wednesday, December 6, the Midgets turned in a good de- fensive effort backed up by the goaltending of Ray Hutchinson and Larry Seymour to shut out Mitchell 4 - 0. In a heavily penalized game Seaforth received 6 of the 14 minor penalties assessed. Seaforth scored all their goals in the first period. At 10:04 Seaforth got the only goal they needed when Barry Lane scored, unassisted. Then at 13:39 - wayne _Cornish got his first of two goals for the night from Bill O'Shea and Paul Hulley. Cor- nish scored then at 15:30 assis- ted by Gord Carnohan. Seaforth closed out the scoring at the 19:07 mark with Dave McClure scoring from Brian Lay.Final score 4 - 0. _ On Friday, December 15, at 8:30 the Midgets travel to Hen- sail for their first encounter. of the season. The third annual Optimist Sportsmans Night was held December 7 at the Seaforth Arena with 75 members of Novice Hockey, Pee Wee and Bantham Baseball players attending along with coaches, managers and Op- timist members. At the head table were Optimist President, Ken Coleman; Optimist Charles Geddes; Coach Novice Hockey Team George Ring; Coach pee A donation of $50 has been made to the Essex County Relief Fund by Hibbert Council. It was remembered that assistance given to the Township after the 1967 tornado, came from that area. The decision was taken at the December meeting of coun- cil held in the Township'Hall at Staffs.. Land Severances were re- commended for approval to the Land Division Committee for two properties in the Township. Road Vouchers were approved in the sum of $14,604.00 and General Account for $50,237.00 which includes the County Levy $39,137.46.
