Head T.B. campaign in ifuron The 1972 Christmas Seal Campaign in the Huron-Perth TB and Respiratory Disease Association is headed by Ralph Goren of Stratford and Tom Leiper of Londesboro. Christmas Seal funds play a two-fold role -- to maintain the vigilant struggle •against tuber- culosis and fight the lung crip- pling respiratory diseases in- cluding chronic bronchitis, emphysema and asthms. The program also includes air pollut- ion and anti-smoking projects. Watch the Coming Events of this newspaper for dates of an asthmatic conditioning pro- gramme for children in Clinton and a "Smoking Withdrawal Clinic" in Stratford. 'One course for - asthmatic children 'is just ending in Strafford; 'while Adult Conditioning will continue throughout the winter in the Red Cross Rooms in Stratford. Baker,) Branch 156 On November the first, -Branch 156 launched their an- nual Poppy Campaign, members canvassed the homes.tn the town of Seaforth, Egmondville ,and Harpurhey for two evenings. The Ladies Auxiliary canvassed the stores and apartment buildings on Main Street, also visited the hospital and nursing homes and factories, the schools were also visited. One familiar figure in the Ladies Auxiliary was missing. Mrs. Charlotte Wood who passed away last summer, had always been willing to' do her share to help the unfortunate veterans and their families through the sale of poppies,. her contribution to the poppy campaign will always be remembered. Comrade President Gordon Scott and Co-riitade Dick,Eisler, Special Events Chairman would like to thank all those who took part 112 the poppy campaign, and a special thanks to Danny Mc- Grath and Ricky Elliott who also helped by giving up their time to sell poppies. But most of all, thanks to the ly betWeen Agricultural Colleges in Ontario and nearby States, involves practical exercises in selectitg and culling dairy cat- tle, beef cattle, pigs 'and sheep (Highest scoring individual stu-' dent in the competition was Doug- las McRae, from Ceptralia Col- lege .and he received the C. Mrs. Danny Coward gave the study on Christian Citizenship and Mrs. Freeman Horne gave a musical number. During the business it was agreed to have collection calendars for the month of November and that any quilts to be done would be quilt- ed. Mrs. John Coward and Mrs. Elson Lynn, and Mrs. Horace Deibridge attended the bazaar at Huronview on Wednesday. Mrs. Howard Dayman, Mich- elle, Charlene and Darcey visited on Monday with Mr. and mrs; wm. Walters. Mrs. Elwyn Kerslake visited on Tuesday at Huron,view with her mother, Mrs. Annie Veal.
