An. overhead door was to be in- stalled at the back of the arena at a cost not to exceed $400.00. Charles Kreiger was hired by council from Nov. 13 till March 31 as assistant maintenance cus- todian at the arena under manager Art Strong at a salary of $100. per week. Councillor Bill Pinder for the protection to persons and pro- perty committee asked1that the resignation of Bernie Jessome from, the police auxiliary be ac- cepted. He stated that he had received a letter of resignation from Chief Gordon Hulley which his committee recommended be accepted. He made a recommendation that a third probationary con- stable be hired for the police department and that council dis- pence with the auxiliary. At this time council decided 'to go into a committee of the whole and asked the press along with several spectators to leave while the matter was discussed:- When the press was again allowed in the 'room it had been decided by some means that the hiring of the third man would not be necessary until a new chief had been appointed. Council had recieved some modifications to the official plan from the ministry of municipal affairs. These must be dealt with and returned before ap- proval of the plan can be ob- tained. It was agreed ,that a meeting be set up with the plan- ning board as soon as possible so that the recommendations could be dealt with.
