The McKillop 11 "Barbecue
Beauties" met October 17th, at
the home of Mrs. Moylan. The
members all took part in making

Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cleary
Karen and Kevin of Toronto spent
the weekend with Mrs. Frank
Evans.
T:iere is still a small acre-
age of late beans in the 'fields
in this area which are consid-
ered a writ-off.
The weather has been most
unfavourable for bean harvest
and even if it-was to fair up
it Would take several days be-
fore the fthlds would dry up
sufficiently to carry heavy mach-
inery.
Mrs. Melva Murray has re-
turned from Detroit where she
spent the last couple of weeks
with her sister, Mrs. Vera Mc-
Kay.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Maloney
spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Mike Maloney at Stratford. Vis-
itors with Mr, and Mrs. George
Coville were Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Eckert, Waterloo, Mrs. Kay Ec-
kert, Mrs. Isabelle Williamson,
London, Mrs. Richard Tate, and
Mrs. Betty Gedlak, Dearborn,
Michigan. Mrs. Teresa Coville
is spending the, week in Port
Franks.
Miss Marie Krauskopf, Ham-
ilton visited her mother Mrs.
Catherine Krauskopf.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clarke,

of Lucknow with Mr. and Mrd.

DUBLIN COLLEEN'S NO. 1
Dublin colleens met October
25 at the home of Mrs. Charles
Frlerfd when the programs were
received, demonstraters for
Achievement Day were voted on
and posters were decided. Mem-
bers discussed the trip to the
cheese factory in Atwood and
the different types of cheese.
Mrs. • Friend and Maureen Del-
aney demonstrated how to make
Chicken it-La-King. The meeting
concluded with a Chichen-a-la-
King lunch and a sample of each
kind of cheese given at the At-
wood cheese factory.
Dublin Colleens #1 met at
the home of Mrs. Chas. Friend
on Oct. 17th. Cathy and Patti
O'Rourke demonstrated how to
make Cheese Crisps. Mrs. Stein-
back talked about dips and top-
pings and Mrs. Friend about
ideal menus.
Smiles .
Two men were discussing the
• vicissitudes of henpecked hus-
bands. "But let me tell you,"
said one, "I'm bosS at my hOuse.
Last night I found there was no
hot water, so I raised the roof.
Believe me, J got hot water,
too; and in a hurry." There
was a pause and he added, "I
hate to wash dishes in cold water,
don't you?"
