Mrs. Reha Caldwell
The U.C.W. of St. -Andrews
Church, Kippen met at the home
of Mrs. Emerson Kyle with hos-
tesses, Mrs.D.Turner and Mrs.
Grace Love in, charge.
The meeting opened with
words of welcome by the Pres-
ident , Mrs. W. Bell. Mrs.
Orville Workman, gave the wok-
ship from Cor. 1, Verses 17 -
27 with the theme "Wisdom".
Mrs. Lloyd Cooper introduced
the guest speaker Mr.D.W.Ken-
nell, Superintendent of Huron
County Board of Education, who
spoke on Student Services. -
In the business portion of the
meeting it was decided to hold
a fowl supper Nov. 1, with ad-
vanced tinicets for sale.
Courtesy rerhNOs were given
by Mrs.- Lloyd Coa-per and lunch
was served by Unit 1.
The "Kippen Kabobs" 4-1E1
club met at the home of Mrs.
Robert Bell. Minutes of the
past meeting 'were read by Jud-
ith Mickle. The new secretary
appointed was Linda Bell. The
'discussion was on packed lunches
`and a guessing contest on sand-
wiches was conducted. Judith
Mickle and Debbie Consitt dem-
onstrated western sandwiches
and Linda Bell served.

with Jack and Mrs. Harry Cald-

. ' The H4ronview Women's Auxilary met in the craft-
room on Monday afternoon to finalize plans for the annual
bazaar which is to be held on Wednesday November 8th.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Finlay of Goderich, Wilfred Jer-
vis, ,Clinton along with Norman Speir and Jerry Collins
provided the music for Monday afternoOn's old tyme music
t and dancing session. Mrs. Earl Allen accompanied at
i the piano fora. sing song of old favourites and singing of
Happy Birthday for David Elliott' and Mrs. Adeline Car-
1 ,roll, A group of lady volunteers from Goderich who
help with the residents and the program on the firSt
, and third Mondays were on hand and along with the mus-
icians made the afternoon's activities quite successful.
i Thirty residents having September birthdays were hori-
oured at a party on Wednesday afternoon sponsored by
$ the BelgraVe women's Institute. The celebrants along
with 100 residents and guests enjoyed a variety pro-
gram with Rev. John Roberts as master of ceremonies.
There were vocal numbers' by ' a Junior Chorus: Ruth
► Higgins, Alison Coultes, Donna ' Higgins, Debbie Hopper,
1, Sarah Lougheed, Veronica Bakelaar, Katherine Procter,
Patil Coultes and a ladies quartet : Mrs. Gee. Procter,
Mrs. Stanley Hopper, Mrs. Wm. and Glen Coultes. Vocal
$ Solos by Geo. Proc,ter and John Roberts, readings by
i Mrs. Les Bolt and 1Vcrs. Stanley Cook.
Following the prograin gifts were presented and re-
freshments served.
Mrs. Lamb thanked the Women's Institute on behalf
of the residents.
The Rythm Band from Goderich Psychiatric Hosp-
ital , directed by Gordon Harrison provided the enter-
tainment for Family Night. Several of the group play-
ed instrumentals, gave iniperonations , and sang solos. . „.

A surprise birthday party,
honouring Miss Rena MacKenzie
of South Main St. was held at her
home at noon on Saturday of last
week.
Chas. Westaway asked the
blessing and voiced the gratitude
that all from near and far were
able to be present.
Donald Patrick reminisced in
humorous style and extended good
+ wishes,. then .presented ,the gift.
Miss MacKenzie thanked all
for coming and providing the de-
licious turkey and ham dinner
to make it. such a happy and mem-
orable occasion.
