the Huron County Black & White

forth. Eighty head 'were shown
by twenty-three Holstein exhibit-
ors while a large ringside watch-
ed the efficient plaeings made
by Judge Gordon Dines, Wood-
stock, Ont. .
' Allan Wylie. Clifford, won
both the Premier Breeder and
Premier-Exhibitor honours, with
George Hayden, Gorrie, in sec-
ond place for both awards.
The first prize two-year-old
heifer, meri Acres Emily, shown
by Ross Marshall; Kirkton, went
on to become the Senior and
Grand Champion female . She
was a very large stylish heifer
with an excellent udder having
particularly nice rear attach-
ment. The Reserve Senior and
Reserve Grand female was Du-
plex Hope, the ' winning three-
year-old shown by Elston Spei-

Reserve went to the second plac-
ing, Banella Linda Eugene 'shown
by Keith F. Johnston, Bluevale.

brought out 80 head. The Judge

Last Sunday a victorious Can-
adian hockey team arrived back
in Canada to be greeted by thou-
sands of proud Canadians. Their
victory over the Russian team
was not an easy one. Every man
on the Canadian team put every-
thing he ,had into the play to
bring about that triumphant
max to the Canadian-Russian
series.
This was not the only v,ic-
tory that came out of -the,--Can-
acia-Russia games. Our hockey
players could be described as
• ambassadors through sport.
What better way could two count-
ries attain such a common bond
than- thrdugh,coUOetitive Sport,
Or reach so mater'brdinary,peo,-
-ple ;:.who otherwise wouid..know

When the Russian team was
in Canada, we all saw what fine
athletes they were and came to
regard them as We would . any
team opposing our favourite team
in the national hockey league,
