Dinner on October 19th.
Miss Bess Grieve gave the
commentary on a trip she and *
her sister, Miss Peg Grieve took
last summer to Alaska... Miss
Peg Grieve gave a story of the
trip and F.Kling showed some
pictures of Vancouver, B.C. and
Banff and also of the ice fields
in Alaska.

A surprise anniversary party
on Friday evening was held for
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Johns, R.R.
#4, Seaforth, at the home of
their daughter, Mrs. Anson Mc-
Kinley. The occasion was their
forty-fifth wedding anniversary
on September 10 whith-was cel-
ebrated early because of a plann-
ed trip to Vancouver to visit a
brother, Allan.
Those present were their four

She was beloved wife of the
late Fred Corbett who prede-
. ceased her in 1945.
Born in London Ontario, the
deceased lived in this area most
of her life. She was a member
of the Amber Rebekah Lodge and
the Lodge held a. service at the
fune'ral Chapel Wednesday even-
ing. She is the mother of Jack
and Edward, R.R.1, Exeter; Mrs.
Bertha MacGregor,- Hensall;
Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Parker,
R. R. 1, Hensall; Mrs. James
(Edna Mae) Sangster, R.R. 1,
Exeter; Mrs. Edward. (Evelyn)
Shroeder, R.R.2, Hensall. Also
surviving are 16 grandchildren
and twenty-four great grand-
children.
The body rested at the Bon-
thron Funeral Home where ser-
vice was conducted September 7,
1972, with Rev. Donald Beck of
Hensall United Church officiat-
ing. Interment made in Exeter
Cemetery.
The pallbearers were grand-
sons - Ross an-d' Al Corbett;
George and Ken Parker;. Don
MacLaren and Ron Shroeder.
GEORGE R. ARMSTRONG
George R. Armstrong,,
Market St., died suddenly at his
residence Tuesday. .
A. son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
George Armstrong, he was born
82 years ago in Colborne Town-
ship, and was educated in Stan-
ley TwiL He was married in
1914 to Pearl Zapfe who died ,
in 1971. He was, a farmer.
in Tuckersmith, until his retire-
ment to Seaforth in 1961.
He is survived by a daughter
Mrs. Morley (Beatrice) Storey.
of Seaforth; a son Bruce W. of
Staffa; seven grandchildren and
five great grandchildren.
Burial took place Monday in
Hayfield cemetery. A memorial
service was held at •the R.S. Box
funeral home in Seaforth Tues-
day at 2 p.m. with Rev. M. E.

MRS. ARTHUR B.WRIGHT
The sudden death took place
in Hethpstead, N.Y. of Mrs. Ar-
thur B.Wright in a New York
Hospital. Mrs.' Wright was •a
former resident of McKillop
Township and lived Just west of
Winthrop. Mrs. Wright was well
and favourably known in this dis-
trict as "they had visited with
Mrs. W.C.Bennett and Mrs. R.
K.McFarlane many times.
Surviving are her husband and
one son, It. Arthur Wright, who
lives in New York City.
Interment was made in a
Hempstead cemetery.

Labor Day week end at Family
Paradise Park. '
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Yost and
Mrs. Mildred Ray of Dayton,
Ohio, spent the week end with
Mr. and Mrs. Harold McCallum
and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Percy Dalton,
entertained their neighbours and
friends to a dance and social
evening in their new shed. The
Silver Strings provided music
for dancing.
Master Carl McCallum spent
a few days with his grandparents
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Regele.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Regele,
Krista, Karen and Darlene of
Princeton visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Harold McCallum on Fri-
day.
