At St. Boniface School, Zurich, the new principal is Sister Louise, who replaces Sister Lorraine who has gone to B. C. Sister Louise was principal of.St..James' School, Seaforth, a few years ago. Ron Jewitt is principal of •" Zurich Public School, comes from Clinton where he served as vice-principal for the last five years. At. St. Marys School, St. Joseph, the 'principal is a male teacher this year in the person of Prancois Lavictoire, a native of Ottawa. At the Hensall Public School the new principal is Ron McKay, who was principal at Hullett Central School and comes from Clinton. - -.Sandy Graham daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mel Graham, Brucefield, and, catcher for the Milverton Winstonettes, has been awarded the All Canadian Catcher trophy the second consecutive year by theCanadian at th Amateur C.N.E. S01tball Association. She received the honor during the Ladies' Canadian Softball Championship held last week The Mitchell Advoc'ate reports- that Mr. and Mrs. William , J. Ney of R.R. 5, Stratford, marked their 50th wedding anniversary on September 6th. - - - YOung step dancers attending the Old Tyme Jamboree at Drayton were Nancy Chessell and Susan ,Rolph. Nancy placed second in the under 15 junior class and Susan, second in the tiny tots class for 9 and under. SusanRolph will appear on the talent show over London T.V. at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. She won first prize, $100, in step-dancing at Stratford at the Labor Day celebration. It was her 8th birthday. - - A ten-year leadership award was presented to Mrs. Harold Thiel, R.R. 2, Mitchell and a five -year leadership award to Mrs. Chas. Douglas, R.R. 2, Staffa, when Achievement Day was • held in Stratford. Sheryl Pollock, 18, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Pollock of Huron Township, is the 1972-73 Ontario Dairy Princess, according to the Teeswater News, by virtue of her win at the C.N.E, on Thursday. The Pollocks reside a mile north of Ripley. Sheryl was to enter Grade 13 this fall but being employed at the Ontario Milk Marketing Board, shee.will,be kept busy in her public relations capacity as Ontario Dairy Princess will take her to many parts of Canada, United States and a trip to Great Britain. • The Lucknow Sentinel reports according to A. Much of Exeter's history, according to the Exeter Times Advocate, is now ready for type-setting and the author of the history, Joe Wooden, was authorized by council this week to have 2,1500 books printed. A malfunction of a heat switch in the basement was the cause and a repairman had to come from Hamilton. A pot-luck supper and the ex- change of Sunshine Pal gifts, Monday evening preceded the - opening fall sessions of meetings of Edelweiss Rebekah Lodge: Mrs. Charles Reeves, Mrs. May Habkirk and Mrs. Everitt Smith were in charge of the supper and Mrs. Mae Hillebrecht the gifts. The Charter was draped in memory of Mrs. Hugh (Margaret) Thompson. Vice grand, Mrs. Habkirk, reported on cards sent, visits made and treats and visits to sick and shut-ins. The new upholstery on the seven main chairs was admired. The 1972-73 year ofthe Hosp- ital Auxliary of Seaforth Comm- unity Hospital was launched by a pot luck supper held in the Board Room of the hospital with a good attendance. Mrs. W. C. Bennett, Pres- ident; conducted the business meeting. The Treasurer's Re- port showed a balance 'of $1,186:73 and balance on hand for the gift shop, Tuck Cart and T.V. Rentals was $2,047.05. Several of the articles sold in the Gift Shop were on display. The fall . conference for the district will be held in Ontario Street United Church, Clinton, Monday, t. 25th. Mrs. W. C. Bennett and Mrs. Leo Teatero were appointed del- egates to the Hospital Conven- tion in Toronto, Oct. 22-25. A donation of $2.00 .was voted to- wards- a Life Membership to be presented to Mrs. Little of Tor- onto at the convention. A letter of appreciation was received from Miss Philpott, Stratford for the Auxilary's assistance at the graduation of the Perth-Huron School of Nurs- .ing.. The new' officers were in- stalled by past President - Mrs. ,Gordon Beuttenmiller,. Mrs. E. Dinsmore won the mystery prize. Stoll and Mrs. Haugh had charge of the devot- ions and Mrs. Stoll gave the call to worship. " Theme for to-day's Wisdom". The scripture lesson was from 1st Corinthians 1st. Chap. 17 to 26. Mrs. Stoll read the meditation on wisdom and led in prayer.. Mrs. Haugh read a poem "If we had time" also a paper "The. Common Folk" written by a fdriner Hensall minister Rev. W. A. Young which showed how you couldn't get along , in any walk of life without the common people like . Andrew of Bible times who lived in the shadow of Peter. Mrs. Haugh led in the closing prayer. The president,• Mrs. Joyce Wilson took the chair for the business. She thanked those who had helped with activities since the last meeting. The trea- surer's' report showed a balance of $3305.61.
