Hold Reunions
FINNIGAN FAMILY REUNION
The rain showers of Sunday,
July 9th, did little to dampen the
enthusiasm -or success of the
annual family reunion of the des-
cendants of the late John Finni-
gan and Mary Jane McMath held
in Harbour Park, Goderich.
Luncheon at noon was enjoy-
ed by a large number including
families from Toronto, London
' Weston, Seaforth, Wingham, Dun-
gannon and Goderich. The Pres;p
ident, Harold "Buz" Finnigan
presided along with his luncheon
and sports' committees, Melbi
and Roy, Elmira and borden and
Lenna and Alex Finnigan.
The business meeting follow-
ed, at which time the retiring
President thanked all who had
assisted him during his term of
office, expressing' the hope that
the annual family gathering be
perpetuated. Everett Finnigan
moved a vote of thanks to the
retiring President and the Sec-
retary, Bee Oak, along with the
committees for the leadership
they had given during the past
two years.
Officers elected for 1973-74
are -John Finnigan, Wingham.,
President and Hazel Habel, God,
erich, Secretary.. Sports and
luncheon committees were also
appointed. .
Mrs. Nettie Finnigan was
awarded a prize for being the
oldest lady and also for having
the largest family and greatest
number of grandchildren present;
nearest birthday went to Raymond
Finnigan; longest marrieds Ev-'
erett and Georgie Finnigan;
wearing braces Cliff Hackett:
Fim games included "walking the
bags to Belfast" and "driving
the pig to market", and for the
children, races and a peanut
scramble.
The 1973 family reunion will
be held on July 8th, in. Lions
park Seaforth.
The Paris Band concert was
in process througbout the.event.
McCLURE REUNION
The 1972 McClure Reunion
was held at the Kinburn Hail
on July 9th with a good attend-
ance. Results of the sportawere

Clure. The person coming the
furthest distance was Jim Mac-
aulay from Sarnia. The boy
with the longest hair was Paul
McClure and the person with the
most change in his wallet was
Grant Smith. -

Doyle) celebrated her Golden
Jubilee on Tuesday July 11, at,
Mount St. Joseph, London, Ont.
She was 'educated- at Dublin
and Seaforth Collegiate Institute
and attended Stratford Teacher's
'College. After entering the Order
of St. Joseph she received her
bachelor of arts degree.
During• her teaching career
she taught and was .principal at
elementary and secondary
schools.,
She is the daughter of the late
Michael Doyle and Bridget Mur-
phy, a member of a family' of
nine. A. sister(Mary) Mrs. Jos-.
-,eph Downey, Seaforth,,brothers,
Joseph of Dublin and Gerald,
Arizona are living.
During the day she received
many relatives and- friends and
'ins presented with many gifts,
flowers, cards and best wishes.
